All joking aside, I don't think I can really justify killing someone for stealing anything from me. Maybe pop one off on their leg and hope for the best?

firearms should not be used for defense of property... any state with laws allowing this is really backwards.

i couldn't give a shit if you drop the drunk 16 year old who sauntered into your house accidentally at 3 am because you thought he was an intruder.

killing someone to prevent theft though? not exactly the intent of the 2nd ammendment, no matter how you play the semantics.
This is where, as a left-leaning moderate, I call you a pussy liberal. If you come onto my property with the intent to steal even the fucking garden gnomes, I'm going to put a few in you, and then have a beer afterwards.

watch out for the femoral artery man... this is actually why any firearms instructor will tell you that when you shoot.. you shoot to kill and you dont stop shooting until you've killed.

dead guy can't argue that he wasn't attacking you.

Just aim for the belly, provided you don't hit the spinal cord, they'll live. They'll suffer. But they won't die. Might need a colostomy bag the rest of their lives though.

Note that this advice doesn't work with shotguns.

Would you be ok with convicted thieves being put to death as well, after the fact, or is it only a "die on the scene" kind of justice? Honest question.

2nd amendment never had anything to do with self defense, even if your life was in immediate mortal danger.

After your all-day browsing of backpage, I'm fairly certain that wasn't just a single fist-pump you did.

This is really more of a scam than anything. It's roughly the equivalent to shooting one of those rip off door to door salesmen who sell you overpriced shit products. You think you're paying for one thing while you're actually paying for something else. You could argue it's even worse for the door to door salesmen because they're promising you something they won't deliver; the whore is asking you to pay for her time with no promises (taking advantage of YOUR assumptions).

If we can kill whores for this then we should be able to kill door to door salesmen as well if they don't describe their products 100% accurately.

There's no "assumptions" when you're paying for an escort. The only reason sex isn't mentioned outright is because its illegal to do so.

He wasn't found not guilty because he was stopping a theft, but because he didn't meet the elements of murder according to the way the law is written. Should have tried with manslaughter.

Edmonton isnt exactly the frozen tundra of vagina that i imagined

http://edmonton.backpage.com/FemaleEscorts/
It's a city of well over a million people, and has Silicon Valley-esque wealth. Not to mention another million or so within a few hours drive who regularly visit it, being the only major center. Mostly blue collar wealth. So yeah, a lot of escorts, strippers and the like come through town on a regular tour to hoover up some of dat oil money.

Uh, what? It absolutely meets the elements of murder. The only reason he got off was because of the Texas law that allows people to use deadly force to recover property during a nighttime theft. That was the central argument of the defense.

During closing arguments Tuesday, Gilbert's defense team conceded the shooting did occur but said the intent wasn't to kill.Gilbert's actions were justified, they argued, because he was trying to retrieve stolen property: the $150 he paid Frago. It became theft when she refused to have sex with him or give the money back, they said.
He'd get life in prison in any other state.
