I'm here also.I might buy a console this generation though if mouse/kb support is in.
I'm also hoping the x86 thing makes the PC ports easier/smoother for everyone.

Not sure if serious. What would be nice is if these next gen consoles connected to the home network so you could use them as a sort of media hub.
E3 should be pretty exciting, will basically determine whether I buy at launch or not.I'm fairly certain the X720/PS4 launches will be some of the best, if not the best, launches ever. At the very least they're going to have some great AAA cross-generation games like Watch Dogs out right at the start.
I think the part where backwards compatibility comes in handy is if you didn't own the PS3. It makes the PS4 a little more appealing, because you're no longer relying on just whatever launch titles they have or the small library afterwards, but having 7 years worth of games to play right out the door. It'd also be beneficial to developers who are doing series over both consoles. How easy would it be for someone to get into Uncharted 4 if he has no way to play the previous 3? (Though, I could see them coming out with more bundles or HD updates with this system, which I wouldn't think would be terribly difficult for them to do.)Yeah i have no idea why people are so up in arms about the BC thing. I didnt expect to play my NES games on the Super NES... I want NEW games.
No, they announced 4k support for video. Just games are still 1080p only. It's an irrelevant feature anyways unless you have a projector sized screen or PC desk monitor.so is it a given that there won't be any sort of 4k blu ray support or what
http://gameological.com/2013/02/more...o-you-like-it/At Wednesday night's "unveiling" of the PlayStation 4 in New York, Sony did not show us the PlayStation 4, which makes this the most postmodern unveiling I've ever attended. However, the various Sony honchos who took the stage at the Manhattan Center auditorium did describe the heart of the machine. It's "the gamer," or maybe it's the "consumer"-same thing, apparently. The word "social" was used as a noun at many points, as it, too, lies at the core of the PlayStation 4. And then there's the "supercharged PC architecture." You want gigabytes? Brother, you can have all the gigabytes you need. . .
This proclamation of a new era was followed by a trailer for Killzone: Shadow Fall that was indistinguishable from countless other trailers we've seen for first-person shooters in the past. It hit all the standard plot points. The fresh-faced recruit hops off the troop transport. A building blows up. Much loud shooting ensues. (Here's a rule of thumb. If the title of your game contains a colon, odds are it's not a "new experience."). . .
