Speaking of this, does Mother's Milk have anything to do with Homelander? You know his nickname and all and Homelander's weird mommy issues and milk fetish.
from the comics
mm gets his power by literally drinking his basement ursula mothers milk

Well, he did sell them out to Homelander to boot.
Yeah, no... Butcher is a sociopath. I'd wager he's not chaotic good, but lawful evil. Dude is UNWAVERING in his mindset that all supes need to be put down. The only time he shows a "moral compass" is when not reigning it on would cause problems with the boys. He needs them to function properly and under his command so he can accomplish his goals. He absolutely does not care about hughie as a person, not does he care what mm has to tell him. He only placates them so they don't abandon him.

If he had a moral compass, he'd do the right thing independently of what others tell him. Hughie and mm have a moral compass.

At least based on the show, I would place Butcher as Chaotic Neutral. Unpredictable and undependable, set on his own goals and agenda. Doesn't seem interested in wanton undeserved harm, but also doesn't care for preservation of life. Comes and goes from the team when it suits his needs. Classic Chaotic Neutral imho.

a bit more on this. in the comics. compound V was in the water supply, etc. theres ALOT more supers running around. not just a select few dosed. projects were tested on. MM's mom was dosed, and he gets his powers from drinking her milk, still.

yeah, butcher is hard to pin. Lawful evil, neutral evil. maybe chaotic neutral.. in the way chaotic neutral can be most things.
he has one goal. Kill all supes, for killing his wife. And will do anything, for that goal. does not care how much he fucks anyone over. even the people he dosed with V himself, to help fight the supers, are on his list to also die.

actually this episode kinda goes into it, his mom was a voight janitor or something and she got dosed and the dad went to sue them, just like the tv eps, from the comics

For him to be "evil" imho he would need a disregard for life in general, like Homelander. Butcher isn't the type of character to simply put a bullet into some unknown innocent just for shits and giggles, or swerve to hit the puppy in the road, but Homelander certainly is. Butcher's universal hatred of supes is inspired by a rational fear/hatred, and it prevents him from being "good", but if Butcher were evil, what would that make Homelander?

comic butcher
is more evil than homelander, homelander isn't that evil in comparison, and in reality, he was framed, but butcher is just evil with zero humanity

what, we don't like spoilers no more? ok

comic the deep
60

looks like that b/c bioshock and the boys were released at the same time, and since garth ennis is really racist, he didn't want so many blacks on his comic so he just made the deep black and the helmet was unremovable.

also he wasn't called the deep cuz he could dive underwater and was a aquaman lulz, he no he was called the deep b/c he liked getting all 4 holes filled.

yea 4? those 2 gills, add em

the deep was probably also referencing Black Manta.
i don't believe so, while both are water ppl, the seven is clearly mocking the justice league
superman,batman,ww,flash,aquaman,greenlantern, martian manhunter

possibly. but black noir is nothing like batman, and jack from jupiter is martian manhunter mixed with Shazam. I can imagine Ennis thinking aquaman is lame, and mixing the two is cooler.
I mean, black manta, is a black man in a diving suit with giant helmet. the deep is a black man, in a diving suit with a giant helmet. EVEN after the end of the book, in a new costume. its certainly possible, it was just him playing Bioshock and liking big daddys. but... there is a comic book inspiration, that is directly tied to Aquaman, that fits.

The Deep barely does anything in the comic. The show's version is already 100x more fleshed out.

Upon browsing the comics a bit, it's funny to see people here complaining about Hughie's mopy characterization in season 2 and how he's such a badass in the comics... I just read a story where he's sleeping with Starlight and tells her about a stupid ass nightmare he just had and she tells him he needs to stop "wallowing in misery" and how she hates how "men are the new women" and to "do something to fix it".. it's basically exactly what's been happening in the show, so that's pretty spot-on.

who said that? hughie is 100% a bigger sad sack in the comics, for 90% of it, for sure. its not till the very very end, he mans up even a little.

Last few pages are full of edgelords manly men whining Hughie is a beta cuck. Anyway, I'm enjoying the show like last season.

Show is still good but this thing where they are dribbling out each episode really sucks.
