Yeah, I mean, the nfl states it dropped its tax exemption status because "it was a distraction". Well then its time to drop Goodell too. The audience booing every time he walks out on stage to annouce a draft selection, while hilarious, is not good for the nfl product.

Well Brady has gone all in on this. Goodell now pretty much has to make this stick or the other owners who pressed for this will roast him alive and he will be done. If he were smart, he would have made the punishment for conduct detrimental to the league for covering up. As it stands, if this goes to a neutral arbitration person then hello spygate 2.0 whitewash. I do find it interesting that Brady is lawyering up and going Full Armstrong, but the Cheatriots themselves have not made a peep about fighting the punishment.

Also, LOL at the fans paying the fine. Pretty much sums up Massivetwoshits fans in a microcosm. That sort of thing might make sense for a team that is publicly owned, like GB. But I am pretty sure Kraft can pay that fine with an ATM card.

The organization said they'll take whatever punishment the NFL gives them. They knew they cheated and got caught and deserve all punishment they receive. They should just be lucky they weren't stripped of the SB win.

The read between the lines there is "fuck this bullshit punishment". When owners of rival teams even admit the punishment was too harsh, that says something. Goodell is just trying to use this to razzledazzle people and make them forget he gave rapists, PED users, and wife/child beaters a less severe punishment.

I believe you are referring to what I said and you should be aware that we were talking about the penalty on the team (and lack of penalty on the coach). The pats are habitual cheaters. Belicheat is a habitual cheater. Brady might be guilty by association, but I didn't say he had priors.

Well, cheating is something you have to stomp on. At the end of the day, rapists, child/wife beaters, and so on still entertain people on the field and add to the "any given sunday" mystique. If it ever looks like people are looking the other way with cheating, then the fans break faith and it starts to degenerate into the equivalent of professional wrestling. The off field conduct stuff and PED use SHOULD be punished more, no doubt, but nothing loses fan confidence faster than letting cheating slide, especially if it is a team at the top of the game. One is reminded of how tarnished baseball became by the roid scandals and how long it took to recover from that (if the game even has). When you have a group of people constantly on the shady side of stuff, while winning championships, then this is your best chance to make an example out of them to discourage others from pulling the same shit.

Not football. People absolutely will forgive players on roids. Means he wants to really win! They will forgive their player for beating his wife, because he needed to release frustration for playing like crap Sunday. You forgive the guy on cocaine because he is enjoying his success!

Nothing in football is tangible. Except Super Bowl championships. No one gives a fuck about stats in football. Maybe a couple of the big ones...and only those because it meant that player was winning.

Fucks sake...Peterson beat his kid so bad the marks were there for a week. Dallas wants this man because he is damn good.

Baseball is so stat driven, that anything that effects those stats is evil. That's why people hate Bonds, Clemens, A-Rod. Not because they took steroids, but because they fucked with the sacred statistics. They pissed on the baseball bible.
