Somewhere in a previous State of the Game, they said they were doing away with the whole item budget thing. So essentially bringing back the possibly of all max rolls on gear. All the changes were laid out over the course of 3 weeks of State of the Game.

People buzzing about the hint drops today about some big announcement tomorrow 11am pst, especially with "expansion" mentioned, some people thinking it'll be a regular expansion. But they had said they didn't want to do anything that would split the player base like survival and underground in D1, so could just be season 2 announcement.

The itemization in this game is pure AIDS. Way way way too many different pools of stuff that are totally random and this arbitrary gear score bullshit that forces you to give up a great combo for some literal shit so you can advance your game (god I fucking HATE Blizzard for introducing fucking i level and randomized stats from Diablo). Because the odds of rolling this kick ass Talent AND the perks AND the core stats as you need them is next to nil, and that's not even going to the actual amounts the stats buff/give. But gots to have the gear score up to 450 and that awesome kneepad is only 150 but orders of magnitude better than any of the shit coming out 200 levels higher. Why not let me "soul match" a level 450 turd into my god 150 and call it a day? Or let me shift around stats even more than just one when I have to juggle so many pools?

All that to illustrate why this update does not excite me, because I'm not sure that can be fixed. Which is a shame because I really do like everything else about the game. It's just when the loot in a loot grind game sucks... none of that really matters.

I guess this is the benefit of using high res textures to create environments. Slap Division 1's environment into Division 2. Need that "slap the roof" meme going for this one. Definitely Division 3, if there is one.

So new expansion launches March 3rd (that's when the Gear 2.0 and massive update changes happen). Tomorrow is the Coney Island episode 3 release. Looking at $29.99 for the expansion if you own the base game ($23.99 if you have the 20% U-play coupon).

I'll be tempted, I enjoyed what I did in TD2 and if it has a more viable End Game (especially changing that awful stat/gear system).

I've been playing this the last few days and having fun with it again. Just clearing some of the main missions from the last 2 episodes. Not even bothering with loot since they are changing it in a few weeks. That gunner spec is fun as hell just mowing shit down with it.

I've had fun, and made it to 30 and world Tier 2 or 3 so far. Don't care about loot really yet. I've only worried about gear score because some of the story missions have a requirement now.

AVOID THE COLLEGE. For a limited time you could take a helicopter and clear out some college missions. It was some of the worst gaming I've experienced in decades: frustrating difficulty, DPS checks, and worst of all escort missions with like 5 phases, and if you fail the last one you start all over. Made me want to uninstall.

Awesome. Wasn't expecting loot 2.0 so soon. I'm a sucker for Division and love the story missions, so more content is a win/win to me. Preordered. Getting it for $23.99 after the ubi coin discount was pretty reasonable. And with Cyberpunk getting pushed back, and WoWs new patch already getting a bit stale, I'll have some time for this. Can't wait.
