The F*** Cancer Thread

There's a ton of research and anecdotal evidence that it can be effective at treatment for certain cancers, at certain stages. What I've learned is it's pointless to post the data (several interesting new peer reviewed studies, which I've posted before in a thread somewhere on FOH), because most people are too stupid, lazy or hubristic to do even the minimum amount of work required to learn anything new. It's like the COVID vaccine debate - plenty of people were saying, "hey, I don't see any evidence this is good at preventing COVID and I don't see any safety data associated with these shots so I think I'm going to pump the brakes before taking it while I await more information", while others were saying "hey you 4chan fascist pieces of shit, get the jab so I can go to Starbucks again - my doctor, everyone I know, and everyone I see on my television assures you it's safe. You're not a doctor nor are you an expert, trust the science asshole!". The same is true with this, only inversed. There are zero safety issues with Mebendazole (and decades of safety studies), and there is zero evidence it contributes to SOC cancer treament interference, so at worst you're taking placebo in conjunction with a typical cancer treatment protocol. Meanwhile, there are several broad peer reviewed studies discussing it's efficacy and safety profile, as well as mechanism of action in reducing cancer cells, and our midwit medical community is like "Snake Oil!11 Fucking lolvermectin again!111 etc etc". Interestingly, after the Mel Gibson interview I'm finding most of the derision to Mel's statements is coming from intelligista/doctors who I know to be vaccinated themselves for COVID (Scott Adamslol) after making the most retarded arguments/assumptions imaginable during that great debate.

The key point to remember is, most doctors and scientists today lack the fundamental attribute REQUIRED to be good at their jobs, on a basic level. They're incurious people. Disregard empathy or altruism, if you go tell your doctor you read something interesting on the interwebz about a plant root from Jamaica that natives have ingested for centuries and they have the lowest rates of (insert medical issue here), and they roll their eyes - Find another doctor. It could be the plant, could be the race of the native people, could be the ground water or diet or any number of variables, but at a minimum, they should, nay MUST be curious. If not, you can assume that they at some basic level they believe medicine and/or science is solved at present, and they aren't going to be good stewards of your health as you age.

I'm not even in medicine, but I find almost all of it interesting. Even when in practice, most (the VAST majority) of new/homepathic/alternative treatments, etc turn out to be snake oil in fact. It's all interesting, because our grasp of what works and doesn't is and should be ever evolving.

Rant off, already drunk on Friday in the 4HL.

Try writing to the top journals. Maybe they'll do a theme on it.

Well, my mother in law has breast cancer. She's at a point where she was diagnosed in the morning on Thursday, and then went out for lunch, then no longer remembered she had cancer after lunch. She never leaves her apartment in her assisted living, often simply sitting and looking at the wall. She has lost most bladder control, has to be helped to shower and dress. Her quality of life is shit. The family made the decision to put her on pain maintenance, not treatment. She's mid eighties, her husband passed just over a year ago, she doesn't remember who she is most days. She can see that her children are familiar, but does not know their names. It's hard for everyone.

The family had to conference call to make the decision, and one of my wife's siblings is so dedicated to just keeping her alive, no matter what her quality of life is. It came down to a vote, and he was outvoted, and that just puts more strain on the already shitty relationship with her brother. He's an absolute cock holster. Short sighted, and the relationship with his family absolutely tanked when he married his wife. If you look up "angry bitch" in the dictionary, there's a picture of her.

So here's an instance where cancer is likely to cause my mother in law to pass sooner, and in many ways that is going to be a blessing, not letting her mind deteriorate until she's catatonic.

And in this whole situation there is one constant: fuck cancer.

Dementia and cancer are both on my 'early checkout' list. I spent a few years in a dissociative state about 25 years ago. That's a hard pass on ever doing it again.

Sorry about your mother in law and brother in law. Fuck cancer in the dildo hole.

so this might be a really stupid take, but I notice that every time I read about someone discovering their cancer, it almost always reads like this:

"The doctors discovered the cancer just in time! They only would've had months to live had the doctors not found it"

months to live despite probably having it for years on end with little to no symptoms.

with how the vaccines were pushed by doctors and trusted with blind belief, it makes me wonder if what is taught about cancer treatment is somewhat bullshit as well

This is like implying the plumbers cause your pipes to leak. People tend not to go to doctors unless they have health problems.

months to live despite probably having it for years on end with little to no symptoms.

Small problems cause small symptoms. Then they grow in to big problems with big symptoms. Cancer is definitionally out of control growth.

My mom had a biliary tumor for years with few to no symptoms until it grew to the size of a grapefruit, caused pain and organ failure (which led her to the doctor where she was diagnosed), then it metastasized and killed her. The narrative is not a mystery.
