That is kind of like fry knowledge 101. No matter what take out burger and fries joint I go to, I ALWAYS keep the paper bag (and whatever fry container) open. The steam in the closed bag / container is what nukes any fry into a soggy death. Go forth and enjoy better fries all around!!

*Edit* This also holds true for pizzas. Steam kills any crispy crust / base.

Speaking of that, the new-ish invention of the Coke Freestyle machines are the greatest fast food invention of the past decade.


Grape-Cherry Fanta is my go-to flavor combo at the moment.

My problem with those machines is that people don't know how to use them or they don't know how to get ice out of them so they stand there forever. Unfortunately, when people do learn how to use them, they will stand there forever and create suicide-like combos all day!

I rarely drink soda but I could imagine if you're a big soda drinker it would be pretty sweet. Only time I drink pop is when it comes in the Canes combo.

Old people flat-out can't use them. I stood behind a grandma-looking lady once for like 5 minutes and she couldn't get anything right. I finally just asked her what she wanted, she just wanted regular coke, and filled the cup up for her. The touch screens are a little wonky, since they have a glass surface that is several inches in front of the actual graphics, it's hard to tell exactly where to touch the buttons sometimes, takes a little trial and error.

To be fair old people suck at using almost anything. Old person in front of you of self-checkout at the grocery store? May as well get into the cashier line behind 3 carts full of groceries.

My latest flavor choice from those machines is strawberry lemonade from the Minute Maid category. So damn good!!

I was recently behind an old person at an ATM. She took so damned long, I'm pretty sure she was trying to surf the internet on that thing.

You need an ad blocker for half the ATMs in my area these days, I can only imagine the self service fast food order machines of the future will have just as many pop ups for promotional products. And old people will take even longer for their combo meal.

those newfangled coke machines are bullshit. I don't give a shit about 90% of those shitty flavor combinations because they're awful. Not only is there the aforementioned problem of old people taking forever, but you'll generally only see one of those machines in a location whereas a regular soda fountain might have 2 or even 3 fountain sets. This means that only one person at a time can fill up their soda. Even when people know what they're doing it's not uncommon for long lines to form behind them. Technology isn't always better.

Just had Baja Blast for the first time up In Canada. I dont get it. Is it better in the fountain?

I had it for the first time about a month ago at Taco Bell. Meh, I wasn't blown away or bummed out.

I think it's great in the fountain only, but I hardly ever get it.

I get it every time when I'm at Taco Bell, and I love it. Recently picked up a 12 pack, and I honestly didn't enjoy it that much.

It has the same carbonated bite Mountain Dew does, and it was much better from a cold can, than a glass with ice, but it still didn't do it for me. I'm glad Taco Bell isn't getting rid of it, and will just continue to get it from there.
