Yeah, when you live in some small little podunk town riding down to the corner McDs is no big deal because you'll have free, clear, and open roads.

In a real city, the corner McDs is a fucking 30+ minute shit fest of traffic jams, homeless panhandlers, illegal drivers cutting you off, etc. I'll gladly pay $8 to not deal with that bullshit.
Or you could just, not eat McDonald's. The only reason to ever eat there is convenience and price and the price part is pretty much gone even without the delivery fee. I live far enough away from McDonald's that no one would even consider delivering it to me, but it would never even occur to me to eat there if it was more than 5 minutes away.

Exactly. You first have to want to eat overpriced junk and then pay a $8 surcharge for some fat slob to bring it to you lukewarm to cold. That's one hell of a deal!

McDonald's was just the example restaurant based on the earlier posts. Replace it with whatever, even a mom and pop shop.

Point being, "going out" for food vs. Door Dash is a no-brainer when you share the road with 14 people vs. 200,000. There is a point where the "surcharge" of Door Dash becomes worth not having to deal with fucking traffic, waiting in a car, etc.

It's only America that's getting fucked on Fast Food. Here in Japan I can still get a Whopper with Cheese set for $4.85 and 15 Mcnuggets are 3:50.

I read somewhere that McDonalds profit margin for America is between 30 and 40% and in Japan it's only 10%. You guys are getting fleeced.

They are fleecing the lazy and stupid. McD's in my area runs app deals like 20% of $8+ purchase all the time. Free fries with purchase, $4 whopper every Wed, 2 for $7 Wendy's sandwiches, etc, etc. You just have to want a deal instead of being a lazy entitled fuck.

I've been substituting jack in the box for most fast food lately since it's still low prices, if i even go. I dont really miss fast food that much since they've cheapened it so much or just flat out removed the items I liked.

I juat go and get better food for the same price. I still can't cook for cheaper in North Texas but I see prices starting to decline faster.

Jack in the box has surprisingly good imitation arby's fries and oreo shakes for anyone who hasn't been there in a while. It's not top tier quality at either, but just below it, which is still pretty darn good.

It's weird, because half their food is pretty awful. It's not a place I go to adventure into new things, but they get some stuff right.
