Yeah, when you live in some small little podunk town riding down to the corner McDs is no big deal because you'll have free, clear, and open roads.

In a real city, the corner McDs is a fucking 30+ minute shit fest of traffic jams, homeless panhandlers, illegal drivers cutting you off, etc. I'll gladly pay $8 to not deal with that bullshit.
Or you could just, not eat McDonald's. The only reason to ever eat there is convenience and price and the price part is pretty much gone even without the delivery fee. I live far enough away from McDonald's that no one would even consider delivering it to me, but it would never even occur to me to eat there if it was more than 5 minutes away.

Exactly. You first have to want to eat overpriced junk and then pay a $8 surcharge for some fat slob to bring it to you lukewarm to cold. That's one hell of a deal!

McDonald's was just the example restaurant based on the earlier posts. Replace it with whatever, even a mom and pop shop.

Point being, "going out" for food vs. Door Dash is a no-brainer when you share the road with 14 people vs. 200,000. There is a point where the "surcharge" of Door Dash becomes worth not having to deal with fucking traffic, waiting in a car, etc.

It's only America that's getting fucked on Fast Food. Here in Japan I can still get a Whopper with Cheese set for $4.85 and 15 Mcnuggets are 3:50.

I read somewhere that McDonalds profit margin for America is between 30 and 40% and in Japan it's only 10%. You guys are getting fleeced.

They are fleecing the lazy and stupid. McD's in my area runs app deals like 20% of $8+ purchase all the time. Free fries with purchase, $4 whopper every Wed, 2 for $7 Wendy's sandwiches, etc, etc. You just have to want a deal instead of being a lazy entitled fuck.

I've been substituting jack in the box for most fast food lately since it's still low prices, if i even go. I dont really miss fast food that much since they've cheapened it so much or just flat out removed the items I liked.

I juat go and get better food for the same price. I still can't cook for cheaper in North Texas but I see prices starting to decline faster.

Jack in the box has surprisingly good imitation arby's fries and oreo shakes for anyone who hasn't been there in a while. It's not top tier quality at either, but just below it, which is still pretty darn good.

It's weird, because half their food is pretty awful. It's not a place I go to adventure into new things, but they get some stuff right.

They really are hit or miss on some things, it's a bizarre thing. Probably what you get when you have stoners testing your food.

Those deals don't work during peak times. GF wants breakfast every now and then, and I have yet to get one of those app deals for 20% off. Says I have to wait or I already used the daily offer. Big scam, IMO.

Visited Chicago for Memorial Day weekend. My best friend from University lives up there. Despite how gay I know Chicago is his slice of it is dope. One thing I truly wish I had living here in Texas is the ability to walk to a few places. Like the neighborhood pub, the store, and a few others in a nice 10-20 minute walk. He has all of that.

That being said we visited Superdawg which I haven't been to since the last time I visited him. Chicago Dogs really are the best form of Hot Dog and you can still get this thing for $8.50 which is a lot better than most fast food these days. Do recommend. You gotta eat this within like 5 minutes of getting it though or the bun and fries get soggy. I can't even imagine some retards door dashing this.

Yeah, I'm sure the franchise has to sign off on having deals, and which ones too. You can't use freebies with deals, each deal used requires a 15 min wait before using another deal, and possibly more hoops to jump thru like non-peak times. I think Kirun mentioned that some restaurants in bigger cities or in perfect locations don't have to worry about deals at all. Lines all the time no matter what they serve. Mileage always varies by where you live.

Nevertheless, there are almost 14,000 stores in the US and McD's lost money this past year. The company lost a lot of money with the disastrous CosMc spinoff as well. The majority of restaurants are doing deals to get these people in the doors. I get deals whenever I want. They aren't as good as previous deals, but they aren't bad if you like the food. Every city I've visited has deals as well but I'm Eastern US below NY. Maybe NYC doesn't give a fuck about their customers. Maybe CA as well. No clue.

There are quite a few really nice parts of Chicago that haven't been destroyed yet. I have many friends who live there. They have beautiful condos, one has a small yard, amazing views, walking distance to grocery, pubs, art galleries, theaters, libraries, several parks, very near beautiful Lake Michigan. So many great restaurants nearby, too. Both fast food and more formal dining. I love Chicago for so many reasons. It's possible to find the nice spots, feel safe, and enjoy all the wonderful things it has to offer.

Just don't go to the other parts. I know the good spots are becoming fewer and further between, but there still are good spots, and I'll enjoy them while I can.

Plus there's a shit ton of ethnic fast food available that isn't to horribly priced. Chinese, Indian, Ethiopian, and then all the standard things we have all over. It's awesome.

I've tried using % off numerous times. Not combined with anything else. No go. My favorite is the You Already Used A Deal Today when I haven't been there in weeks. Scam.

If they want to quit losing money, how about drop the prices and quit offering trash and a fix up their boring menu.

Denali Big Mac. 2 Quarter Pounders. Cordon Bleu Chicken (well, just an oblong McChicken patty with "Cordon Bleu" sauce). Bacon Big Mac. All Day Breakfast. Quit jerking off with the McRib. Offer it full time. The only thing new they would have to make is the cordon blue patty and sauce.

Their big thing was the Chicken Big Mac which was a complete failure. All they had to do is slap two McChicken patties on it, but they came out with new ones that couldn't be bitten into without blowing the guts out of the sandwich because they were so tough.

I agree they've blown most of the new menu items for a while now. They offered the Bacon Big Mac in 2019 for a short time and it was awesome. The Bacon Ranch McCrispy was pretty damn good too. That's probably the sandwich they would use for the Cordon Blue idea. I don't know why they didn't use 1/4 pounders when they offered the Grand Big Mac. It seems like an easy pitch with the increased prices of food today. Maybe just too expensive? I think a certain segment would love them though. I agree about McRib but maybe it never sold back in the day. I can only handle a few of them before they get really old.

I love the mcrib, but the last one I got might as well have been a soup it had so much mcrib sauce on it. That shit was going fucking everywhere, there was a pool of it in the container, and it was just unpleasant as fuck to eat. I've never had a mcrib like that before, so I hope it was just a fluke.

It's so inconsistent where I live. They are usually on point the first week or so but then you never know what you're getting. No sauce, bread and soup, nothing but bread and meat and a dab of sauce, etc. For me, it needs a solid balance or it's just school cafeteria material. Old lady with painted on eyebrows usually included.

Yours is $8+? Deal at my local stores only have the 20% for $12+ which ironically the price hikes are reaching that level for a single combo.

I threw cordon bleu out there, but mayo/honey/mustard/2 drops of lemon juice would work. Grilled chicken sandwich on a toasted bun w MHML sauce and lettuce tomato. McTaterTots and onion rings to offer alongside fries.

Can't have a boring menu alongside high prices.
