It isn't only the left talking about the police shit. You don't like it, for whatever reason you have your opinion, and that's cool. But the movement just doesn't mean what he's saying it does and it's a waste of time to sit on a podcast with 90 million listeners pretending like that's a thing. Anyone who just does a cursory search of the phrase can read what it's talking about, and Weinstein is certainly a smart guy who is capable of nuance. For whatever reason, he's just choosing not to and strawmanning with some position no one could reasonably have.

Some people do have it. It's important to call those people idiots and the worst form of marxist.

But that's not the majority opinion and it's even more important to recognize that fact. Pretending like it's all "Abolish the police" is giving the marxists far, far more influence than they have earned.

Assuming that the goal is to make things better. More prosperous, more socially harmonious, more stable, more gooder. If the goal is to just grab power and do whatever the fuck you want Well, I mean fuck... just get a gun. The fact that the CHAZ doesn't have them is part of what makes it such ridiculous anarchy larp.

Is chaz even still a thing, or has it already crumbled under it's own fucktardation?

The left as a whole has confusing messaging, it's weird, they can never get their shit together like the right can. Plenty of smart people, I'm sure they work hard, they just can't get right. Either that or it's all a game and none of it matters and the system is a lie and they're all just playing out parts, kneeling in their stupid scarves or whatever other nonsense they will do next to keep motherfuckers all spun up.

"death to america actually means...."

I agree, it's important to call those people idiots. Yes, your socialist marxist post-scarcity utopia is so dumb that even Star Trek stopped trying to do it, because humans are gross. But they aren't doing that, they're playing pretend. Come on, you really think Dave Chappelle even knows about or gives two fucks about any of this marxist shit Weinstein is talking about?

It's annoying because, if you take the conversation in the Jocko podcast, what they talked about are widely popular reforms. The lack of training, mission creep, militarization, death of community and personal involvement, etc. Every one of those things he mentioned have been specific points raised by protestors around the country. Given the level of agreement I would think the focus of the conversation would be that agreement rather than "hey look at this fringe idea". Weinstein says "the violence associated with policing is a feature, not a bug" and he barely spent 2-3 minutes expanding on that wildly controversial if not unjustified opinion. But we get a solid 30 on debunking "abolish the police". Just call it bullshit and move on, talk about the real problem not about how stupid some fringe "solution" is.

I think you grossly misunderstand the ideological vanguard that drives normies talking points during crisis, they formulate these idea's during quiet times so when times get loud they fill the void of angst with proscriptions, this is probably the source of confusion of "this is not what most people want" yeah, well most people didn't want the ayatollah in iran either but the people who start riots aren't the ones who negotiate the peace.

so yeah the _____ vanguard literally write about how police need to be banished, these idea's make it to the organizers who lead the protests.

We have to understand policing as fundamentally a tool of social control to facilitate our exploitation. So the idea that we’re going to make them nicer and friendlier while they do that task, and that’s gonna make everything okay, is laughable.

I think you grossly overestimate the influence of Jacobin magazine. That first paragraph:

Part of the problem is that for decades now, communities have been told that the only resource they can have to address their community problems is more policing and more incarceration. Communities that have very real crime and public safety problems are desperate for help, and if the only thing on offer is policing, they’ll ask for policing.

Our job is to lay out what the alternatives would look like and give people a sense that they have the power to ask for what they really want. Many people in these communities know that they would be better served by a new youth center with mentoring services or anti-violence programs, but they’re told that they can never have those things.

I'm sure there's plenty of nutty shit in there if I read the whole thing, but is he wrong? Would anyone argue that police are the solution to mental health issues, or substance abuse? Or used for municipal revenue generation? It's easy to see how things got to this point, but less easy to understand how it doesn't benefit everyone to try and solve it.

But you have a point that the fringe does tend to drive events in moments of extreme crisis.

How about if shitheads just stop acting like fucking shitheads?

Look at that, we just solved the problem by targeting the problem instead of debating problem-solver options.

I've never had very many oriental friends. There just aren't many options available where I've lived. I always ask them what their name is, and it's always fucking weird.

"Brian".

Come the fuck on, your name is not Brian Chao. Your name is most likely not Lisa Xi.

One thing that surprised me a lot is that fillipino's name their children in english. Those people have been utterly conquered.

I mean I guess i'm just a dick for asking, but i'm genuinely curious when I ask.

That yellow skin sure is thin.

I stopped caring about being called white around 12 years old. Oriental is better than calling a Jap a Chink. Yall are some racist fucks.

A lot of our Chinese engineers changed their name. One guy took Peter Pan. Another is Shark.

Edit: forgot about Cloud too

I've been told that the terms asian and hispanic are racist. The reasoning was something rambling about it being non-specific, dehumanizing, etc. People need hobbies.

This weinstein's big idea is to reinstitutute consular authority in america. lol. And he considers andrew yang to be center left.

"So my idea is that we get an admiral and a literal communist in a room together and see which one of them dies".

I mean I'm ok with it, but probably not for reasons that he would approve of.

His Bernie Bro ass needs to stay in Cali unless he plans to vote R.

Actually, I bet he would only move to Austin if he came here anyways.
