I thought this episode was pretty decent. Some good jokes in there. You can tell the show is really trying to be Star Trek. Not sure how most people receive that but I'm okay with it.

Ya, you can tell he wants to make a legit Star Trek show, but make it less serious.

I liked the exhibit at the end lol. I'm also convinced that kid alien will end up being some psycho.

Bah, fucking football ruined my DVRing. Torrenting to fix. Meh.

I thought this was a decent episode. Little more character development. More potty humor, which I will always enjoy. Adrienne Palicki still a fucking smoke show.

The only part that made me die inside a little bit was the spiel about zoos being evil. Seth and his goddamn political self insertions.

I think the zoo comment was a joke. Star Trek was always preachy about the 20th century. 'We're beyond money, we no longer war with ourselves, etc...'

I'm guessing the girl Bortun thing will be to end up like the Krogan in ME.

Ah, for someone that didn't play ME - krogans were infected with a disease that made females super rare to be born, something like 1 in 100,000 or something ludicrous like that, I think they miscarried but it wasn't ever gone into in depth from what I recall. (They were still M-F pairing to breed though they had super long lifespans if not killed in battle)

Krogan genophage would be the topic to look up specifically if you're hitting Mass Effect wikis though.

I liked the 2nd episode too. So far I've not felt my time was wasted watching this. The only gripe I have at all is when they do the bridge scenes you can hear the voice echo and it sounds like they are on a set instead of a spaceship. Other Star Treks got around this by background noise/ship "hum" and stuff going on. Odd gripe to be sure but it was really noticed. Now that I have mentioned it, you all will notice it too. You are welcome!

I am rooting for this show and find myself really wanting to like it, but it's kind of lacking so far. It feels like it's still sort of struggling to find its identity; stuck straddling the fence between trying to not to make a mockery out of Star Trek and being a full blown comedy. I don't mind them not wanting to make a mockery of Star Trek (as a fan) but i think they need to figure out how to make it funnier - I know it will never go flow blown Family Guy and that's OK, but i think they need to tap a little more of the comedy style of "A Million Ways to Die in the West." The second episode was a little better, so i have hopes that it will find its footing. Definitely plan to keep watching.

Seems like they could handle some of the shit Star Trek wouldn't touch because it's too 'low brow' but actually would come up if you think about it logically. Like all the fucked up alien species and how they do random shit all the time, or how they use human toilets or whatever.

This show is painful to watch. Did someone at Fox owe MacFarlane a favor because I can't figure out how this got made. The jokes fall flat and the dialog, especially with Alara in this episode, is terrible. Feels like they're trolling us but honestly I can't tell.

i liked episode 2 better than episode 1..

btw there is a way to reprogram the comcast x1 remote page up button to skip ahead 30 seconds(instead of the default 5 minutes) that bypasses the fast forward disablement done on ondemand so i am able to skip commercials.

Step 1: Press the Exit button three times

Step 2: Press 0030

now the page up button SHOULD skip ahead 30 seconds...the page down button should skip back 15 sec.
