I dunno, maybe if Rick stepped out of the RV holding up Negan's severed (but animated) head the 40 dudes with guns would have dropped their weapons and apologized for everything. Maybe they are all really good people at heart who are just following orders.

And Glenn's death packed zero emotional punch because the writers had the bright idea to let everyone speculate for months instead of just giving us a dramatically effective finale.

Abraham and Glenn were my two picks. Abraham had his whole story arc where he came to peace with himself. Glenn pretty much had to go if they were ever going to do Maggie's story line with Hilltop. Also, you know that one of the core had to be killed after how much of a shitfest the season finale was.

yeah abe was disappointing but i expected him or eugene to go. i never read the comics so i dont know what maggie does at hilltop, so glenn dying was unexpected.

I had given up on the show when the governor raided the prison, whatever season that was, and only tuned in to this episode because I was curious. I thought it was pretty good. Was the last season of a similar quality?

it was pretty awesome at some points, but in typical TWD fashion, it had its fair share of fucking bullshit too.

This is a non-issue.
If your kids are watching The Walking Dead, which was violent from day one, you're the problem, not AMC, the producers of the show, or the show itself.
It's NOT a family TV show.
The solution is simple, be a parent and don't let your kids watch it. Additionally, if the show offends you, don't watch it.
I'm all for promoting much more family friendly programming than whats already available, but I also advocate the use of common sense.

My wife is a kindergarten teacher and she says her kids talk about watching the waking dead with their parents. Some people just don't have common sense and shouldn't be parents.

I finally watched it. I said I wouldn't but I did.
I knew Glenn was a goner. I guess I knew both were goners but I never believed Matt was right when I made the Aug 1 post about the double kill.
I felt like it was actually well done in the flashing back to the deaths. Andrew Lincoln as much as he is hated on is a very talented man. I doubt I'll watch any/many others but I'll keep my eye out here to see if the general feeling is improving or worse since AMC claims it is a change from the old style to a new way of being filmed.

As for kids. I don't feel it was THAT gory. I'm sure kids see much worse when they wander onto LiveLeak or hashtags fucking McChickens on twitter.
I grew up on the saturday night movies with the parents where we watched 1950s movies eating popcorn of giant ants/bees/birds fucking people up.
Asked pops about it tonight when he dropped off some stuff and I was only terrified of a tiger living under the bed. Those fucking tigers hiding under beds and shit. Some real first world problems right there.
Still mad Abe died. He was probably top 3 on the show for me. Abe, Carol, Gov. Am I the only person who liked the governor?

Speaking of Zombie shows. Fear the walking dead I am 150% done with. I tried to watch some more of that this season and I felt it was terrible all around. It should be called Fear the Walking Dads or Fear the Walking Chads or something. I can't tell if it is because actors or because of the actors but something about it seems painfully bland.
Z Nation this year has been better than last but I feel it is trying too hard to be a "Higher" end show than it really was. The acting is ok for SyFy but it lacks much of what made it so great in season 1. Who doesn't love Viagra Zombies? Keith Allan has shocked me how well he acts compared to the rest of the cast. Russel Hodgkinson (Doc) does ok as well but I am pretty sure he is just a real life hippy anyways so his apples are pretty close.

While I am on rants I might as well go full Hodji mode.
AMC came out with Into the Badlands, 3rd rated show on TV, says season 2 is coming, comes 1.5 years later. This is the same shit The 100 did. WHHHHHHHHHHHY u do this AMC/CW.
I would say someone please PM me when Rick kills Negan but if they made the goverator last 3 seasons you guys will be watching Negan on Trumps 2nd term.
