I just noticed tonight I've been given subs in a couple of channels by different people. Who gives out gift subs? Money laundering lol?

Tested out streaming from my normal ps4 and it was really smooth, a lot better than expected even when I had it set to 720/60 (doubt the ps4 could hit 60fps anyway).

People who want to support the streamer outside of just a raw donation. Subs can be more valuable to some people. It's weird how obsessed the younger demographic loves new emotes they can use on things like twitch and discord these days.

When someone does a batch of gifted subs, twitch just decides who gets them randomly. I've been gifted them to a few streamers too. I kinda feel bad when it's a streamer i only barely checked out because of the main one I watched hosting them. But single gifts can be targeted to individuals

Which is funny, because you can spot a lot of white knights in some channels where one person will gift a lot of individual subs and it's always to people who will have a female sounding name. It's like Everquest all over again.
