Of course, but we're talking about actual threats made by the dude and going through the process. They can do a no-knock warrant if a cop lies about smelling pot around a car, I'm sure they could find a way to search a guys house after he posts threats.
Maybe those things would have happened if he was something other than a rich young white male.

Yeah that victims dad should get on board with the Teabagger/Gunlobby fantasy of havingeveryonearmed to prevent gun violence. Making guns available to crazy people for profits at the expense of society is the New 'Murican Way.
Gun availability had very little to do with this. The guy was psychopathic and intent on murdering people.

Wrong again! He had another 40 fully loaded 10 round mags in his car. This one ended well. We lucked out. His weapon was legally purchased and registered. He could not have inflicted this much damage with solely knifes/baseball bats/shovels etc. Again this went well since he didn't get to carry out the full extent of his plans or expend that ammo.

he could have drove his car and ram 30-50 people at once. use a knife to kill his roommates. the result is the same.

Only a piece of shit would say that. Again, he still would have killed people if he couldn't get a gun or ammunition, that is pretty clear.
No, you're wrong. Your argument supports gun ownership and therefore cannot be right.

Checkmate, NRA.

Gun availability mitigated his killing spree significantly. If he had spent 15 mins on the internet learning how to make some home-brewed explosives he would have killed a lot more than 3 people, he might have even gotten away with it. Hell, burning down the sorority house with some gasoline while they were sleeping would have gotten more than 3 kills. The gun control angle is just faggy gun-fear rearing it's head at every possible opportunity.

Are you arguing that guns being readily available to crazy people like him limited how many people he killed because had he not had insta access to firearms he woulda had to do research resulting in more lethal home-made explosives?

Oh and he killed 7 not 3 -and that's more than the Tsarnaev brothers killed you brainwashed turd.

Homemade explosives or burning down the house both take time to set up and enact. Not to mention how many people kill themselves making homemade explosives vs being successful.

While both are POSSIBLE they're not very likely avenues. Why don't you talk about him making a nuke to accomplish it too, those plans are public domain too.

(Not to mention most parts that can be used for explosives or arson are tracked in quantities that would be effective, much more so than guns even in "strict" California)

He killed 3 with guns you stupid sniveling faggot, 3 with knives. Does gasoline on the sorority house require some monumental research? You're the one shitting up the thread with your delusional pussy gun-fear pathos.

Would banning firearms reduce murder and suicide? Harvard study.

compares most of the world and history, short answer, no, in fact the opposite.
Technically guns have fewer SUCCESSFUL ones if you actually read the studies. Gunshots to the torso are more survivable than a slashed jugular, shockingly.

Incidents are actually pretty much flat regardless of availability. Lethality goes up with more mundane methods though.

Also note their core location in the study is the UK with unarmed police which they don't even discuss as a possible factor that would increase brazeness.

Finally, note they use the Swiss as an example of low violence and high guns, but ignore how much training every Swiss citizen has and ammo restrictions that they have in place.

Tons of cherrypicked data presented in a narrow fashion to promote an agenda.

harvard is known for promoting gun agenda's...

UK is not the "Core" of the study they go through every western country practically. they mention it's not apples to apples at the start however the trends are overwhelming, they also go through attempted homicide, not just murder. So no there can't be apples to apples studies for obvious reasons but the trends are overwhelming. screaming "cherry picked" when you couldn't have even read the whole thing yet is just reflexive arguing imo.

Dousing a small bonfire in gasoline to start it takes a while with a huge real of gasoline, a sorority house is many times larger. Sure it wouldn't require research, but he likely wouldn't kill anyone either.

Probably be noticed before half the outside was doused. (not to mention fire likes to spread outwards so it would penetrate inwards slowly if he didn't do it in the basement - and even if he did smells would give it away sooner indoors)

Have you ever made a bonfire or campfire? Because your implication that arson is quick and stealthy is absolutely ridiculous.

The guys who wrote that study are known for just that.
Don Kates - His books include Armed: New Perspectives On Gun Control, Restricting Handguns: The Liberal Skeptics Speak Out, Firearms and Violence: Issues of Public Policy, and The Great American Gun Debate: Essays on Firearms and Violence (with Gary Kleck). As a civil liberties lawyer he has represented gun owners attacking the constitutionality of certain firearms laws.

He is editor of Firearms and Violence: Issues of Public Policy (San Francisco: 1984, Pacific Research Institute) and the Winter 1986 issue of Law & Contemporary Problems. He is author of the entry on the Second Amendment in M. Levy & K. Karst, The Encyclopedia of the American Constitution; "Firearms and Violence: Old Premises, Current Evidence," in T. Gurr (ed.), Violence in America (1989); and "Precautionary Handgun Ownership: Reasonable Choice or Dangerous Delusion," B. Danto (ed.), Gun Control and Criminal Homicide, forthcoming (1990).

Gary Mauser - His interest in firearms and "gun control" grew out of his research in political marketing. He has published two books, Political Marketing, and Manipulating Public Opinion and more than 20 articles. For the past 15 years, Professor Mauser has conducted research on the politics of gun control, the effectiveness of gun control laws, and the use of firearms in self defense.

Harvard is quite varied in background all political types flock to it.

The study has been around for years, I've read it previously, smartass. It's a common NRA advocate go-to.
