Garlic is largely trash. it's useless mid-late game. its only value is the very early game, as it 1hit bats/sludge, etc. This CAN put you above the curve, giving you a few levels up, thus weapon upgrades, for the weapons that do scale. thats its one value. however, late game its a wasted weapon slot.

knives is mid-tier. its massive boss killing dps. you control its targeting, so can focus it where you want it to. it gains piecing eventually. t7 iirc.
wand is high tier. its also strong boss killing dps. its targeting is controllable as well, since it targets nearest. its less dps then knives, but has high knockback. it pairs extremely well with book, garlic, and water. aoe circles around you. anything that manages to get through, dies to wand. same with lit ring, tracer, to lesser degree, as their aoe coverage is more spotty. but great in their own rights.

Magic survival is very obviously the origin, given the name.
It is, clearly, when playing as well. That said, despite lots of claims of just being a rip-off.. its really not. theres many key differences in design, exp drops, mob behavior. upgrade system. and just being on pc with controls. magic survivals touch screen controls suck balls.

I tried tap wizard 2. what cancer. its crazy as it DOES have the basic gameplay of single stick auto-shooter, and some of the mob behaviours, skill targeting, etc.. but, the idle part of the game just fucking kills it. it takes what vampire survival does in 30 minutes...and spreads it out over literally 60 fucking days.. It just progresses way too slow.

day9 compared it to Crimsonland. but thats a twinstick shooter. lots of roguelike twinsticks.

I haven't player it personally, but from what I can tell, Deathstate is probably the closest pc game. singlestick bullethell roguelike.

I'm not sure if it gets the targeting elements that this does. or if its more like a classic roguelike enter the gudgeon, where you have 1 gun at at time.

the art drama seems to be ongoing. seems the art pack, he got the sprites from, is not available any longer. likely... due to stolen sprites.
the devs response is really tepid. just "ill edit them a bit more". and this has been an issue since it first came out, and hes really not focusing on getting it fixed, asap. how much this is blowing up, it wouldn't be surprised if he hits a massive shitstorm lawsuit.

honestly some proactive dev out there should copy his copy, and beat him to the punch. new art, etc. its not like this thing didn't take like 3 days to make.

santa water evolve seems weaker then just regular santa water.
