A band came through yesterday which escaped the rotation and shot north.
That little sucker dumped 1.1 inches according my rain gauge in 1 hour.

Power company here with 6 bucket trucks. I'm helping with morale support sitting on porch watching smoking a cigar.

Lost power, cell service, internet, and water. All were restored in less than 48 hours. Several trees down. Nearly every tree on the right away fell into the powerline and they started working Tuesday moring with 6 bucket trucks and by 5pm the power was in that fiexed the cell, internet, and water. Not a local crew, all in brand new all white trucks. I didn't walk out there and ask.

One set of power lines has been stretched across the MS river that will feed New Orleans and Jefferson Parish. Ascension Parish, the parish immediately south of Baton Rouge announced they are almost out of gas. No word on when they can resupply.

My sister in a suburb of Baton Rouge got her power on Tuesday at noon. My friend that just built a new house in the country club of Louisiana in Baton Rouge never lost power. She was really nervous the had just moved in less than a month ago.

Co op power on the edge of Baton Rouge and a few smaller adjacent areas announced 30 days. From their location guessing most damage is lots of tree damage. It's a lot like here all upland pine timber in some pretty sparse population areas.

River traffic is closed and no word at all obviously on when that will open. Not good if you had planned to ship grains and such from the midwest by barge to be loaded on a freighter. Not to mention a 1,000 other things including oil freighters coming into the refineries.

It's one, maybe two hurricanes away from being a permanent part of the Gulf of Mexico.

Other than camps being gone not a lot changed visually. Not much other than a sand bar to begin with.

I-55 is closed in baton directions now starting at the LA/MS line to just above New Orleans. Lots of pine trees down over the 90 miles.

Overnight a heavy cell went over DC and up through Baltimore, flash flooded suburbs and had at least one person who drowned in a below ground level apartment in a housing complex

Lives about 1/2 an hour away in the middle of nowhere. His house and studio and tourist trap stop.

It was a prop or once they brought back from the dead from being wrecked on the show. Not "the" General Lee.

One of my bosses in Baltimore just had a bunch of leaks pop in his roof mid-meeting a little bit ago. Pic below is from my brother’s house in Frederick. That basement is fucked.
