Interesting interview. Seems like Jenna Ortega was getting annoyed by how Wednesday was being written and had to actively try to fix it on set.

Understatement. She made sweeping and drastic changes to dialogue to enhance the fidelity of the character.

The writer's had her very poorly written, given her examples she gave.

I do recall a few times her lines or actions felt out of character so she probably needed to put her foot down even more!

Was a very fun show though. Looking forward to S2 if it eventuates.

Sounds like pretty much all writers are hacks at this point. This would've just been another reboot destroying an IP if not for people saving the writers from their own bullshit.

Hollywood has yet to realize having a younger generation try to write a show of an older IP is not a good idea. But also having fans of the IP just turn it into weird fanfic. Its a double edge sword.

Watched the Hot Ones episode with her a while back, she's fuckin sharp

i am enjoying this show immensely.
last episode was kind of a letdown. it was a lot more formulaic than the rest of the series. you are the key. check. villain monologuing, check chick who couldnt do the thing the whole series, can now do the thing and be incredible, check. and many more tropes. oh well. the first 6 episodes were fun. would love to see a season 2.
