So I got an email about this today. Director of one of our departments randomly includes me in an email chain asking if theres anything I can do to help him keep track of his workers because they just caught another worker who had been fucking off for a few hours doing nothing.
The business software we use is great about this, you can look at all your worker who are using it see how long theyve been in various states, what project they are working on etc. Weve been using this software for 3-4 years now and this feature has been there the entire time.
Look at the guy's user account for the software and hes never logged into it.

Windows updates take fucking forever to install nowadays for whatever reason? I guess cause they're trying to do background installs and shit, but like I ran into some PC issues so first thing I figured I'd upgrade Nvidia and Windows shit since I always delay it by several months until such an occasion, and it's been trying to install the 200mb or whatever patch it downloaded earlier for the past 30mins. I think I can speed it up if I force a restart now, but it's just gonna prevent me from doing anything until it's done during the restart, so I'd rather not, but I still wouldn't mind if it used more than .1% ressources to do its shit. Just fucking weird.
Edit: And obviously it took almost 10mins to install that shit after I started the restart after it was "done". And they're still trying to get me to use Edge. Luckily this shit only happens every few months, fucking windows man.
Edit2: Also fuck can't seem to fix the problem no idea where it comes from cause I didn't do fucking shit the past week, but now getting only 40FPS in FFXIV and 30FPS in MHW, stuff not overheating, load seems normal, no real obvious issue, fuck it feels like shit at that FPS but can't figure out what's wrong.

Only had this issue when I was running with a laptop HDD. Ever since going SSD, updates take like 12 seconds, 8 of those during the reboot cycle. Sometimes it's worth it just to download the latest ISO of Win10 and starting from scratch. Think it took me 3 minutes to install and about 20 minutes to download whatever game from Steam.
Force rebooting can result in more problems sometimes. Fucking hate that shit.

37 minutes later, 4 restarts, and it's up to 85%. Sweet Jesus, what is this update? It included an Office 365 update, so I'm sure that's a big piece of trash and it's going to fuck up my Outlook view settings again. Looking forward to that for the 97th time...

Everything sold these days is absolute garbage quality..
15 years ago I could buy something like a laptop, or an electric shaver and it would last me at minimum 5years.. today for even high prices the most I can expect out of any appliance is 6 months. The 1200$ laptop I bought last year made it an entire 7months! Wooo lucky me.
