The only thing that truely matters is if you, as an individual, are attracted to the person for whatever reason AND you can unconditionally trust that person to be faithful and do everything in life in your best interest. If a relationship is not built on a foundation of trust, then how can it possibly succeed and be genuine?
In the alternative, there are relationships built on only the superficial and both parties acknowledge this and are okay with it.
