Only if it's a trannySoo nutting on some ones forehead is a skill shot?
I'm curious on this statement? what makes it a pve game?Who cares about PVP in what will generally be a PVE game.
But yeah, it'll be interesting the shit show the system will cause in both sides of the game.
You don't balance 40v40 but you certainly need to know what AOE is what. My Esper probably won't give a fuck if you're casting an area snare. My Esper would probably want to get out of the area stun or area damage effect, and I have no idea whether it's worth my time or positioning to move based on the single telegraph for all detrimental effects prior to their effect.I'm curious on this statement? what makes it a pve game?
We know they have arenas and warplots. Is pvp just relegated to "addon" status because its not directly tied into the game and is more "do it when you want"(except for the most likely pvp servers).
Even then, you cant really just say "screw pvp", because if arenas(I'll ignore warplots since you don't really balance 40 vs 40) have any kind of rewards, I can guarantee balancing will be done around it and in turn effect pve. Since for some reason companies refuse to separate every ability with a pve and pvp side, which can be tuned independently.
Would you consider WOW a PVE game or a PVP game? The correct answer is PVE so don't bother responding to that question. In any case, like you said, it will come down to whether or not the devs want to chance the esport dream for a minority of players and have it hurt the PVE realm.I'm curious on this statement? what makes it a pve game?

This is the best I can find that I think will address your concerns.Does anyone else think that the red/blue system is going to have seriously shitty implications in pvp? Using a WoW example--there's a huge difference between cutting through a mage's blizzard and landing in a ring of frost. Ring of frost's telegraph in WoW also shows you how long until activation--something that seems to be impossible to notice in Wildstar. In the telegraph video, an enemy puts up a ton of circles and expects you to evade them. This works great when there's unlimited space, but in a raiding environment, what if the entire floor gets covered and it's only intermittently safe, for shorter than the duration of the telegraph (think Heigan the Unclean)? All in all I appreciate good telegraphs, Tera has absolutely terrible telegraphs and as such healing people is a real bitch in that game when the bosses are about 6 stories high. It's difficult to even get a glyphed focus heal that far without having to dodge the bosses's melee spinning attack out of nowhere. BUT I think it adds a layer of simplicity which will cause high end pvp issues as well as a lack of diversity in high end PVE.
Not a bad way to do it, really. It'll require a bit more preemption than re-activity then? They mentioned that enemy telegraph are not visible in pvp.
A lot of people apparently. If you look at the online game space right now there are ton of popular pvp games. A lot of people (including myself) spent a large portion of their time playing wow in pvp, and hell my favorite experiences in that game were in pvp. If wow didn't wait untill 8+ years in to hire a dedicated pvp dev and properly supported that side of the game the way they did the raid game maybe it would have grown a lot more as well. It's fairly obvious that wildstar had pvp in mind from day 1 and are putting in a lot of systems to support it so there's a chance it can a be a very popular part of the game.Who cares about PVP in what will generally be a PVE game.

PvP doesnt have to be in hunt of some Esports dream. The reality is that people need something to do in a raiding game like this while being locked out of dungeons/raids/whatever. You can never produce content fast enough to satisfy the audience that devours it so PvP is a simple thing to add that is open ended.Would you consider WOW a PVE game or a PVP game? Well maybe the people who play the game for the PVE are sick of their MMOs being ruined because of PVP and the whining for balance that ends up nerfing the game for everyone else. PVP is why we can't have nice things in MMOs anymore and a lot of us are sick of it.A lot of people apparently. If you look at the online game space right now there are ton of popular pvp games. Guess I'm just sick of the attitude from people that if they enjoy one side the game the other and the players that enjoy it can go fuck themselves.
PvP doesnt ruin PvE games. Class balance doesnt exist and for a PvE game to remain fresh you need to change the balance people use. A raiding game would be boring as hell if you used the same rotation for years on end. The reason behind the balance changes is irrelevant to this.Well maybe the people who play the game for the PVE are sick of their MMOs being ruined because of PVP and the whining for balance that ends up nerfing the game for everyone else.
