Was a nice stream. They do really good marketing. @Scooter Any chance of changing the yellow ? and ! to something different? I throw up a little in my mouth when I see them.

It would be cool to put their own spin on it, like they did with the ding animation. Where the issue comes from is probably familiarity, most players will understand exactly what they mean, instead of some new system/icons. I'm for changing it though.

At the very least change the color to the blue they use for the title or something. Can't take that log to change that asset.

And i personally think thats the way it should be draegan, not a fan of the same raids with +hp and damage on mobs(with occasional new abilities)

Its one of the main things i look foreword to

Wasnt there something in that addon utility that people could download that listed different modes for something? Swore there was normal, hard, nightmare. Maybe its just for dungeons?

Nice job "dropping the f-bomb" right at the start of the livestream there, Scooter. Is it because of that Fred Savage joke someone made earlier?

I'm not a fan of 4 different modes of raids myself.
That's the thing that killed WoW for me. I got so burned out killing the same bosses 4x a week. It was excruciating.

It pissed me off, because it's just blatant laziness on the part of the development team. "How can we create more content without having to create more content?" I hate them.

Not to derail too much, but the only time you were (more or less) "forced" to kill the same boss 4x a week was in Wrath, pre-ICC. If you did it after that then you did it to yourself.

By the looks of things and I may be wrong but it seems like they are striking a good balance between accessibility and enough numbers to please the min/maxers...

WildStar - Twitch
The thing that makes me think Wildstar might be different than the other post-WoW MMO lineup is the simple fact that the devs aren't ashamed of their game. SWTOR, Rift, Champions Online, and even Guild Wars all seemed to work really hard keeping everything secret. When there was a tiny bit of leaked TESO footage, Zenimax freaked out hardcore. I know the excuse has always been "We don't want to expose out trade secrets", but is there really that much secret sauce in MMOs? I think a more likely reason is that studios don't want to expose their par-to-below-par game play and diminish potential box sales.

Carbine is clearly different, and has adopted the openness that Blizzard had back in '04. The fact that they're willing to show us what they're doing tells me that they take their game seriously, and are planning on releasing a game their actually proud of - as opposed to something that their paid to be proud of.

Carbine sure is giving off the vibe I got in 04 reading the WoW beta forums. I just hope the game is playable with a ping over 250, or they give us local servers.

I think it's more paranoia of showing off something too early and having people judge it as the finished product. Honestly, Wildstar has some of this too (couple classes still unrevealed, for example). They just do such a great job getting people excited about what they can show off due to their level of enthusiasm, whereas most other MMO devs present things as if marketing is holding a gun to their head.

Why I feel bad for EQ:N and their used car salesman.
