Yeah, that's my biggest gripe about MMOs these days, no real in game support. Bring back the guide program! /ducks
It surprises me that the guide program went by the wayside and no one has tried to improve on it. If done right, you're basically getting some free labor that offsets some of the CS department's workload onto paying customers. It's like the perfect scheme.

But really, one of the most unfortunate things about Wildstar is that it's published by NCSoft, which means they handle most of the CS. It's really never been their strong suit, and something tells me a subscription fee doesn't mean they're going to be pouring a lot of money into improving that. They never did with City of Heroes.

I cant settle on a class. Keep rerolling. First ss, then esper and now i think i am going to try engi. Keep getting to mid teens and restarting. fml.
You're pretty much in the same exact cycle I am. Got a SS and Esper in 15-16, and now I rolled an Engineer since ranged tank sounds intriguing. You'd think having to play through the starter zones again would dissuade me.

So play on a different server to try the game out - you're limited as fuck on guest accounts. If you manage to get 20 and have to reroll, you lost like 5 hours tops.

Well after having shitty 25-35 FPS on Medium settings. finally tried turning off SLI when I got back into town tonight...and instantly at 80-90 FPS.

Oh well. Atleast it's running better.

Edit: Also, who can invite to the Exile guild on Stormtalon?

First three attempts at veteran adventures were a bust. First one, dude from GS dies on a trash mob and leaves saying we fucked him over for gold. Second one, people just started leaving randomly after every few packs until we wiped. Third one, healer leaves mid caravan escort after jumping over a rock.

Veteran adventures are puggable at 50 but they're not a super easy joke like most people are used to. The important thing is to go in there with some type of gear (you should take some time once you hit 50 to go buy the rep gear from Grimvault. Make sure you have your neccessary DPS amps and are in an appropriate spec. The type of specs that you used while leveling are probably trash for adventure/dungeons. At that point you need to have some type of understanding of the natural progression of adventures:

The first adventure you should do is War of the Wilds. You should be focusing on doing nothing but capping the flags and avoiding the mini bosses at first - if your pug group is decent you can add in a mini boss here and there. The only difficult part of wotw is when the exiles engage you - this should net you a victory & gold 75% of the time.

Once your confident with wotw you can start doing crimelords. Crimelords is just as easy as wotw however you need someone with a decent understanding of which selection to go through which makes it not very pug friendly. The advatange of crimelords gold is it nets you 2 epic drops at the end.

Once you've done wotw/crimelords enough that you're out of quest gear you can start on Siege & Malgrave. Siege is super easy and allows you to have a few deaths and still achieve gold. Your entire goal in siege is to make sure that your generator never takes any damage for gold. Sabs are cloaked npcs that require you to run around and break them out, if they plant a bomb a DPS disarms it. Snipers just have long range. If a tank spawns everyone needs to head towards it and someone needs to keep it snared. Same deal with the busters just without the snare. The issue of tempest is there are 12 potential bosses and 2 are incredibly difficult (Esper & Warrior) but if you get decent RNG of the bosses you get it's an easy gold.

Malgrave is exceptionally long and should not be attempted unless you have a decent group.

Game is great. I mean to have as much as they do on launch is ridiculous. The world and everything in it is so fleshed out. I thought the telegraph system would be a gimmick but they really utilize it to make every mob do something cool. Each fight is engaging.

Honestly in general anyone who doesn't like Wildstar simply doesn't like theme-park MMO's.

My biggest issue is that wildstar seems to send my vga to high temperatures and so far it's the only game that pushes it above 70 ?C. While it's true that room temp has raised a few degrees, it's really the only game pushing this hard on my rig, despite not being (apparently) the most demanding one.

Levelling is quite slow to be honest, but that's mostly because I waste a fuckton of time doing everything conceivable, from challenges, to actually look for lore (NavMate addon is great for this) and level my path as well.
Given my limited playing time it's not an awesome pace, but it's okay.

I did a dungeon (Stormtalon) and it was exhausting, stupidly fun, but still exhausting: tank took some nasty spikes, not even sure if she did anything wrong, certainly she took quite a beating at times, not unhealable, but certainly exciting so to say, but she certainly didn't have good threat generation, with the stalker and the dps esper biting the dust too often (switching to heal is an exercise in frustration most of the times, unit frames don't help at all). And there I thought "but it's low level so it will be easy...".

I didn't expect trash having so many hp, nor stuns that fucking kill you and you can't get out of (seriously, it says "hold" the left button and it does nothing at all, while forward and backward break the stun earlier as intended), nor raid level of challenge in a level 20 dungeon. I loved it, it was quite a while that 1 group content was hard in any way shape or form, that was pre-nerf Rift dungeons.
The last boss was the easiest but quite fun, the second was quite annoying and the first not particularly bad. What took the prize was a miniboss above a platform that took us several tries, because interrupting is too hard sometimes, yeah...

What I despise is the party unit frames: they are garbage, pure shit. I also love to randomly losing targets or getting random new ones, especially when I really wanted to land that "mind over body".
In the end it was a pleasant experience, healing as esper is quite fun and the challenge is welcome and refreshing.

Questing as esper with the mobile builder makes the class a solo god: I can kill 3+ mobs although I have to pay attention and it takes me a little bit, it's also quite fun.

I'm enjoying the game a lot so far. I'll certainly play a tank sooner or later, it seems more rewarding in terms of group leading and setting the pace and I'll very likely play a stalker, which was my favourite class in beta.
