First one was a decent movie. Not exceptional, but a pretty decent origin movie with a horrendously shit final act. If it was an MCU movie it'd be on par with the lower end of them. Thor 2/IM2 level. If they had stuck the ending it'd probably be closer to mid tier. Would not watch this one without watching the first one. But honestly I wouldn't recommend watching WW1984 even if you do watch the first one.

I think the movie should have ended with a lesbian scene between WW and Cheetah, with lots of lots of scissoring action.

Maybe in a porn parody.

first one was aight, worth watching. 2 problems with it. the final boss reveal was pretty easy to see and the final scene is pretty bad, like they built this cool movie up without fully thinking out how to end it. it doesnt ruin the movie though. its good.

Don't recall any specific ties. It's not very good either, probably on par with 1984. It has some pretty cool individual moments, but overall it's a mess.

I saw some fan edit version of Justice League where they tried to clean it up to make more sense with the other films. That wasnt bad, i never actually saw the theatrical version. I can see where people would think its bad though. Some of the CG on Cyborg is super crappy, the plot isnt that strong. I think its worth throwing on for free to get caught up with DCEU stuff.

I bet a fan can make a better edit of ww84. Something not as obnoxiously long and remove some of the cringe.

WW has always been able to fly. With or without the jet. Well, maybe not always, but for sure in the 80s and 90s comic books.

zack snyder is releasing his recut, reshot, $30m+ directors cut version of Justice League sometime in 2021 so I'd just wait for that, its gonna be an epic disaster or an amazing movie, who knows

re: 2 wishes, its goofy but basically Cheetah gets Diana-equivalent powers with her original stone wish. She tells Pedro she wants to be an apex predator, she doesn't actually get that wish fulfilled by Deus Ex Wish but instead Mando sucks wishpower(tm) from randos during his telethon power up and grants them to Cheetah. He mumbles about "give her more power" a few times while also wishing himself better organs, health, etc. Its all goofy as fuck and doesn't make any sense, so not worth thinking about too much. There are a million little things like that they try to paper=mache over plot holes, like a helicopter is behind Pedro when he returns to his son to explain how he traveled from Telethon Island back to the white house but each sad attempt creates 10 new plot holes (how did the son get to the WH, why would the pilots listen to Mando if he is de-wish-powered, etc)

also as an "apex predator" she should have turned into a Crocodile, T-Rex, Shark, Bear, etc. not a fucking cheetah lol. actually the ultimate apex predator on Earth is a dude with a gun

late 50's she could glide. mid 80's with the made from clay origin she was able to fly. then in 2010ish, she was rebooted again as a demigod with flight.

some people liked it. you might. put it on and see how much you can stand. i lasted an hour before i took a break and then came back for the last 90 minutes. when its not boring there is a lot of unintentional clown world comedy in there.

WW2017 was low average till act 3 when it turned into grade A dog shit.

So, I watched the Ultimate Cut of BvS last night on HBOMax. On there until end of December I think.

Anyway, I’m ashamed to admit I really liked it. The three hours seemed to fly by.

There's no doubt this was bad. Watchable only because there's nothing else, honestly. Which begs the question - if this was a normal year and it came out as schedule during the summer, would it have had a $100M opening and would opinions be any different as a theater popcorn movie?

people would be shitting all over the movie if they had to pay $15+ for it and make the trek out to theaters. since you can watch it at home over multiple days in your underwear everyone is a bit more forgiving. I HATED Birds of Prey because I saw that stupid fucking movie in theaters and it sucked ass, but WW84 doesn't piss me off, its just disappointing.

its also the business case why this is the future. Netflix, Disney+, etc don't have to make AMAZING content to get my monthly sub, just enough to justify paying a sub fee. To make big bucks in the box office, you have to keep cranking out good stuff and every business would prefer a revenue stream that is solely dependent on output, not quality. Attempts, not success.
