Just picked up a Jet 12" Drill press off Craiglist for $300 bucks, with a custom cabinet the owner made for holding it. It's like new, but a new one would set me back $540. He also tossed in a huge forstner bit and a drill bit.

His wife wants all his woodworking shit gone, as he hasn't used it in ages. If only I had like another 3k and the space to put all his stuff.

No kidding. He's selling a Sawstop tablesaw, dust collector, jointer, air cleaner.

I really only need an entry level drill press, but this is probably the best quality I could hope for. Digital speed readout, with variable speed, laser X and a light.

sheeeet, i don't know much about wood, but i'd buy that sawstop just to resell

unless you have 9 1/2 fingers then you're not a good salesman for sawstop or maybe you are and say it stopped at 1/2

Few ideas for the backyard, and an ugly but functional sand bagger.

Unrelated I like sketchup, I think I will continue to use it now that I found some cool plugins.

Moving in to our new house, finally able to get in to the 3rd garage / workshop. Everything there was left behind so I’m pretty excited.

Nice! I can't read that little sign. Does it say "Hookers in Back"? Seriously though. Good bones for a nice workshop!

rofl I didn’t even notice that. It says “Hooked on Quak.” Previous owner was big in to duck hunting. He had the space with all his hunting and 4x4 and shop stuff. Hopefully I can do it justice bc he left behind some good stuff fitted out.

my new garage also has a window and i just so happened to have (hoard) my window ac from my apt days, and have a use for it

i bought this to put on top

Jeacent A/C Security Window Lock Bar, Window Security Bars - Sturdy Steel, Extends from 9 1/2" to 16 1/2" for Sliding Windows with AC Unit Installed

i'm in the woodworking thread so i'm sure you can just cut one to perfect size, but i'd recommend something to stick on top of the window, i mean seriously it takes 10seconds for a theif to open the window, let the ac drop out and climb in.

Nice job on the woodwork but not to be a dick that thing looks pretty weak for a bead frame. Maybe for a kid?

this is either
1. the best endorsement for work or,

greatest splinter in the world

I had one like that. There was a spot of scar tissue on my shin for literally four years that would periodically get inflamed. At one point in high school I got tired of it and poked at it with a needle and a fully 1.5'' splinter came out. Thinking back, in elementary school I had fallen and scraped up against some pressure-treated lumber on my back deck. I had no idea there was a splinter until it came out, though; I just thought I'd taken the skin off.

Video splinter is a whole new level.

or you guys use something else? idk
3M reusable respirator & Filters (note P100 rating vs N95 - these get 99.97% of particulates vs 95% plus some protection vs organic vapors). You want these filters if you're dealing with volatile chemical vapors that are present in some finishes.

It's more a expensive solution than 95's (but not much) and I really have no interest in fucking around with lung fibrosis.

Yeah, I use the 3M one with the quick release. It actually isn't that uncomfortable for the short periods I have it on.

Got back from vacation yesterday and put it together, so nice to not be sleeping on the futon we have been crashing on the last month

I built a mini skate ramp for daughter and I to learn on. Made the exit ramp modular and while I can take it on and off I would love to be able to pull it away then flip it up onto itself using some kind of hinge. Anyone have any ideas? Away because if you just flip it up the plywood bends into itself. Fucking pressure treated plywood still close to 80 a sheet so garage kept it has to be.
