That sounds like something in your game is screwed up - the badge thing always appears top middle just below the score for me. Have you got any mods installed?

It was a vanilla install. Installing quickybab's mod pack fixed it. I read on the forums other people had a similar issue of getting them to pop up everywhere. When I died I started getting other peoples pop up about spotting and such.

Fixed now after I installed mods over vanilla. Odd. I have them all turned off. Even when they work seem kind of annoying.

Science of American tanks:

He's a member of a non gaming/ non tank related forum I'm a member of. He's a pretty sharp guy and he has a youtube channel where he travels and checks out the tanks in person and crawls all over in them and in them.

He's also the person I mentioned earlier where I got my world of ships early access key from.

So last night I'm playing my GC in sacred valley and we are up against a relic 0 platoon. The rel toon with a 140 and a T-62a ( a Random T54 joins halfway) go up the SE into the houses area against a IS-3, Obj 416, t-44, T54E1, T54, T28 Prot and an AMX13 90.

They basically systematically eliminate our entire force there, the train only stops when after killing our final guy (the T-44) I guess where there 62a is headed and blind fire him. Luckly our team won the NW hill and is pushing down west side.

The Relic T-62 starts talking some smack about arty so I talk some back and they send over a AMX 13 75 though mid who manages to shoot the dirt or bounce 4 of 5 his shots on me. I then proceed to unload my stored up load of angst from these forums upon him and send him up in flames to meet Tuco. Their whole team is now wiped out except for the last Rel guy in his 140. I talk a bit more smack and he turns around from fighting the team and comes looking for me.

I had around 360~ hp from the one shot I took from the AMX and he had about 1250~ still. I position myself in a little trench and wait for him to come around knowing that if I don't hit him dead on I'm toast. He races over the hill snap shoots and hits me once leaving me with around 15 hp. I then unload as he continues racing down into the trench and smoke him, giving me a Starks and winning the match.

It felt good pretty much singlehandledly eliminating that platoon, if the rest of their team had not also folded on the NW side we would have lost for sure.

The one good thing about this game is I never feel outmatched by unicom players. I know they will likely pen if the situation allows it and I know they will fight rather defensively until they have an overwhelming DPM advantage or are in a Russian tank. Now, that doesn't stop me from getting super frustrated by idiots on my team who don't realize that in fact their tanks can do something if they try hard enough. I'm not consistent enough / don't care / play shitty tanks to get shiny purple stats but I'm pretty capable when I need to be and I've destroyed plenty of 'pros' because I know the situation at the same time they do. It's 'twitch' enough to require some skill to be good but not so twitch that it eliminates all tactical factors.

I agree if you play tactically well and know your tanks advantages/disadvantages you can do well enough against the "pros" in random battles.

Knowing your vehicle and the maps are key though. When I first started playing the GC I had a 47% WR with it for my first 200 or so battles. I kept playing it though and gradually I've gotten to know it's quirks, general shell travel time, how utterly bouncy it is on lower tier tanks, where generally to pre-aim on maps, and all the other little things that make a difference in winning games. Now im sitting at around a 54% WR with it and while I'm not a top tier player I can do well enough to manage the odd top tier game.

Why I really enjoy playing WoT is because of exactly what you said.

WG really screwed the pooch this time. Friday afternoon going into a 3x weekend they did something to their database. They blame it on poeple having a World of Warships account AND a World of Tanks forum.

Basically for a lot of people they have no gold, no free xp. I had just purchased premium time and I got a receipt but it doesn't show up and my premium time expired.

I can't even take equipment off an existing tank for 10g. Locked because I have no gold. If this affeceted you you can't upgrade modules or research another tank either because it's fucked up the free exp regardless if you needed free exp to unlock that module. The popup in game says "soon" and can't sync the database with the game. It's been 12 hours and apparently all the powers to be are out of town at tank fest.

They are stuck on the world of ships deal, which I never redeemed by code, never logged in, never downloaded it and lots of other people according to their forum.

The ticket I submitted just came back and it says in the future don't login to WoWS and WoT at the same time and make sure I log out of the website before logging in. Jeeeze. Still not fixed.
