They gave up on WoD a long time ago to work on Legion. Legion better be worth it. Being stuck in HFC for a year is getting pretty tiresome.
Totally. I would have loved to see the original story for WoD. Garrosh was supposed to be the final boss and "not just another orc", but that was scrapped.

Vineyard sort of got my point. Wotlk was the pinnacle of this game. Sure vanilla and tbc were awesome, but wotlk really was a home run. Yes, there were dailies, but I ignored them. There was plenty to do everyday. I could fly around all day picking flowers if I wanted and make good money. Maybe I wanted to run heroics for gear, or heirlooms, or whatever. I had to raid with my guild doing both 10 and 25 man's. Yes, the game is old and subs will decline, but the last few expansions have just been garbage.

Well sure, my statements don't apply if you move the goalposts.
I didn't move the goal posts at all. My point was always that dailies would be fine if they weren't the only means of advancement in an area of the game. The problem is there are far, far too many aspects of this game that require you to do dailies to progress through. There shouldn't be any, dailies should be supplemental, not mandatory in every single aspect of the game they are a part of.

Yup. OoA should have been 500 rep per chest opened in tanaan + 4-5k daily quest. Headhunters should have been 25 per orc or arrakoa murdered in tanaan with 4-5k daily quest.

That is probably one of the things I miss most. Mining/herbing/skinning for money. Garrison totally fucked it all up. I used to stay up all night flying around Icecrown/Storm Peaks for the lichbloom and frost lotus to sell.

Yeah, Garrison ruined two of my favorite activities: gathering and crafting. Everyone has effectively unlimited access to materials so they aren't worth anything, and crafting was severely hamstrung with capping equipped items and putting the basic "bar" as a 24h cooldown. Absolutely dumb.

I am confused as to why Crafted Gear is still Limit 3 at this point in the expansion.

The World Quests look like a good feature. But then again, so did Garrisons pre-WoD. Let's hope they don't fuck this up as well.

You're talking about one aspect of the game. Getting raid ready. I couldn't care less about that. Want to get your crafting recipes? Once a day books you need up to 5 of for the recipe. Want to fly in Draenor? Dailies. Want certain mounts tied to most reps? Dailies. Want to upgrade your gear? Dailies/Weeklies.

There are tons of things that are blocked by stupid goddamn dailies in this game. Fuck dailies.

I think you're the one not being honest here.
How would you rather gate content if not behind dailies?

Don't gate it. Gated content has always been, and will always be terrible.

What point is there to making someone wait X number of days before they can get something no matter when they try to accomplish it? Ever gone back and tried to do old content for various rewards only to be cockblocked by dailies 6 years after the expansion it was current in ended? What's the point of that?

It's funny that you would defend such a shitty mechanic. Take two people, one who can't play during the week but gets to play 4 hours per day on Saturday and Sunday and another person who plays 1 hour every day of the week. The person who can play every day can accomplish daily blocked content 3.5 times faster than the weekend warrior even though weekend warrior plays a full hour longer than him every week. It's the antithesis of what the system was meant to do (help people who don't get a lot of time to play every day stay relevant in current content).

So you'd rather burn through all the content in a week then quit?
You're right Itzena, there has never been a successful game in the history of games that didn't have everything hidden behind once per day 24 hour cooldowns.

WoW only has enough content to last people a week? Sounds like a shit sandwich of a game. You can't even make a cogent point.

I don't remember much broken content in Vanilla. Sure there were bugs like the MC raid lockouts where people would get ported to the wrong instance (even cross faction instances) but those were fixed relatively quickly and there weren't many bugs like that.

Shit balancing sure (Scholo/Strath "5" man instances at release, Druids being absolutely terrible in any spec, most classes having 3 specs but only one truly usable one, paladins being way fucking better than shamans, fear ward, etc) but I don't see how dailies fix any of those issues...

I'm honestly surprised anyone is defending dailies. I thought the overwhelming consensus was that they are one of the worst things Blizzard has ever introduced into gaming.

SO much this. I hate them with the fire of 1000 exploding suns. I'll do anything possible to avoid them completely, anything. It doesn't have to be a rational or measured response to them, but it's a cold hard fact.
