There's been a few people here who know what they are talking about. If any of you actually won, you really, REALLY need to sit down and think clearly before you tell a single god damned person. With this much money, you and your family's lives will be in danger, and I'm not exaggerating. That guy who won one of the largest jackpots ever, had one of his kids kidnapped for ransom, and another OD'd on drugs. He's had numerous threats and problems as a result, and says he wishes he never won. Obviously, he was an idiot in how he handled the situation, but it's not all sunshine and rainbows.
I've thought about it before, and I don't think I'd tell anyone. Not even my family. The reason secrets get out, is everyone has one or two people they trust completely. Say I trust my mom/dad and tell them. Well, mom tells her husband (my stepdad), stepdad tells his two daughters, one daughter tells her husband, he tells his brother, etc.. now a dozen people know already, when I only told 2. Telling a secret is unloading the burden to another. It's you saying 'I can't keep this secret, but now I expect you to'. This kind of secret getting out, would put many of them in danger, so I'd just keep it to myself to protect them.
I'd setup a blind trust, NOT sign the ticket (if you sign it with your name, the trust can't claim it, have to wait till the trust is setup and sign it under that name) but put it in a safety deposit box or something. Take pictures as proof for the lawyers. Then, work on a cover story that you'll have to convince yourself is true and stick to for the rest of your life. It doesn't need to fool the government or someone, just enough to be a plausible way you got rich that isn't 'lul i won lotto lul!'. Family inheritance that was invested into bitcoin 6 years ago, befriended a rich guy who took you under his wing or you advised him on a business investment that worked out, etc.. This is something I'd figure out with the lawyers I hire. it will help if you actually funnel some of the money into some kind of investment/business that can look like a way you make your money. People don't feel entitled to your money if they think you did something to earn it. While Bill Gates certainly gets beggars/stalkers, it's nowhere near as many as lotto winners.
Also, taking the payments is kind of silly. If you can't trust yourself with all that money, tell your lawyers/financial advisors and they can put most of it into the same kind of fund the lotto does, and set it up where you can't touch most of it each year. All the lottery does is take the lump sum (a bit over 900 million right now) and invest it certain ways, then pay you out off the interest over 30 years, with a big payment at the end. You can do the exact same thing and end up with more money.
