Yeah, I don't think he has much critical acclaim. Buut I'm sure your googlefu pulled the same results. I have a few of his books.

Hah, funny. I came here just now to post that same picture. I love it.

There's lots of good art, but as boring and simple as some of his pictures are, I always liked Kinkade. His ability to paint light sources always intrigued me, of course it didn't hurt that he was so prolific. I wouldn't say any particular pieces I've seen are masterpieces, though.

i can't seem to attach the pic from my phone. It's worth a click though. Its a painting at the Dallas Art Museum. I have loved this picture since I was in my late teens. It's a pretty big picture too. There is a bench in front of it and I would sit for a good 20 to 30 minutes admiring it.
