I have a whole house generator attached to natural gas, and a huge regular gas one to power everything else. We lose power about once a year, many years for 3 days at a time. I don't want to lose everything in the fridge and freezer.

To be clear, I think I would have a very hard time living without four seasons. Winter is my favourite. I love snow. I love cold. It's invigorating and awesome. Spend an afternoon sledding with kids and friends, and then sit in front of the fire. Fantastic.

Pressure wash and clear sealer. Once you colour it, it shows badly as it ages. And as the sun bleaches it, there will be sections that don't take colour anymore. Never colour stain a deck imho.
