See, I don't think so. He won't be a starter after this year. He can either retire, or sit backup.

Guess we'll see after the season. I think it's laughable to suggest retirement. Unless he falls off a cliff the rest of the way I guarantee someone is going to pay him with his resume.

He's already fallen off a cliff. 37th in save % this year, 39th last year, 48th the year before that. I don't think he'll retire, someone will sign him and come to regret it. That someone will look at his bloated resume of wins and give him $7-8m.

On that note, will Holtby achieve the unattainable (for him) goal of 90% saves tonight? Doesn't look good so far (but then 88% seems pretty unattainable for Holtby at this point)

If the Caps keep handing Flyers the puck all alone in front of our own net, it'll be tough for Holtby. But that's the kind of stuff you have to look deeper than just the whole sv% to see. I've also shown he went 2 months straight above .920 sv%. I agree his dips are worse than they used to be, but people are kidding themselves if they think he's just having bad games every night out. Reirden's system isn't nearly as stingy defensively as Trotz's.

Hey, look. 12 shots and three fucking goals. Thanks a lot Anderson. Toronto needs to smell what's up and get rid of this piece of shit.

2nd goal against tonight where Caps literally hand the puck over to the Flyers to be in alone with just Holtby. Not sure what Kuznetsov and Carlson were doing there.

As a whole I don't know what the Caps are doing tonight. Absolutely getting dominated on their own power plays and as you mentioned the turnovers are putting terrible Holtby in a position where even a good goalie would likely give up something

It's not often you see a guy with a breakaway from his own blueline. Even if Carlson didn't have a Flyer right there to disrupt that pass from Kuznetsov, he barely even got into the zone to keep that play onside. Just seemed like Kuznetsov had any other option to choose from and made the worst one.

Well, you go 0 for 5 on the PP and give up a short-handed goal against, pretty much fucked.

Anderson loses it for the Leafs again.

Am I the only one seeing this?

That first goal against was woof. Then again Tavares looked like he could have played for the Caps tonight handing over the puck for a short-handed breakaway against on the next goal.

Caps typically don’t play well against aggressive PKs. The Flyers were forechecking hard on the PK to negate the sling shot zone entry. So the caps are stuck trying to walk it in over the blue line and immediately get pinched at the boards.
