That's not how the fucking Internet works. Quit being civilYou are correct. Soloing in Everquest required a higher level of thought, awareness, class knowledge, and skill. Those aspects made you a much more relevant player in groups/raids. The best of those classes were usually the best soloers as well.
Unfortunately I hear "solo" in mmo's and immediately knee jerk to faggot wow facerolling. Thinking about my necro and the pleasant refreshment of your post makes me remember how "right" eq did things.
I was wrong, and for that I apologize.
On dont get me wrong. You are all still more lame than David hasselhoff. That's not how the fucking Internet works. Quit being civil
i say merge the SHD and PAL and let players choose the dark side if they wish.War, Pal, Shd, Clr, Nec, Wiz, Rng, Mnk, Shm, Brd, Dru, Rog.
Maybe Enc or Mag (I'll predict merged into one class)
I was always a big fan of the Secret of Mana sequels how they handled classing.i say merge the SHD and PAL and let players choose the dark side if they wish.
There were two kinds of EQ necros. You are correct. Soloing in Everquest required a higher level of thought, awareness, class knowledge, and skill.
Nah they're too easy for the devs. You make one and just reverse the sign on the abilities and you've got the opposite. Paladin gets a 50pt heal, Shadowknight gets a 50pt lifedrain. etc.i say merge the SHD and PAL and let players choose the dark side if they wish.
A good example is from the Final Fantasy XIV reborn beta forums. Everyone there is complaining about how there aren't enough quests, aka not enough like WoW.Source?
Agreed. I like the idea of the religious classes being able to choose their god, and have that functionally act as a subclass. So you just have a "paladin" class, but the paladins of evil gods get spells that make them more like shadowknights, while good paladins get spells more like what we traditionally associate with the class. Same thing with clerics.i say merge the SHD and PAL and let players choose the dark side if they wish.
Just say no to generic class templates. The entirety of fucking WoW design is a class template.Agreed. So no druids? Just a Cleric of Karana?Agreed. I like the idea of the religious classes being able to choose their god, and have that functionally act as a subclass. That don't get attacked by animals, have a different starting location etc... sureSo no druids? Just a Cleric of Karana?
We'll see.Almost certain they aren't going this route. Choices, especially those with negative consequences (even if they have positives too), have been deemed "too difficult" or "griefing " for the common folk.

That's about the best thing I've read. If they make the game like that I'll..... I don't know. But i'll start by changing my sig to something really cool to promote the game, and then I'll buy it and ill tell allllll my friends (a good 2 or 3 people) and I'll... be a very good boy. And i'll use their cash shop.Read this quote today. I just can't bring myself to believe they will make something like this again. It doesn't appeal to people hopped up on mountain dew yelling into a headset mashing keys (what I've been forced to play pretty much for the last decade).
You guys need to get on board with downtime. Because there is going to be massive opposition once people play it and I worry that SOE will cave and change it. Downtime is very important because by itself, it achieves several things. First off, it instantly makes combat dangerous. Because if you are fighting a mob and your health and mana is dropping (and wont recover quickly after the fight), it means that you have to be very careful not to attract adds, it means pulling the right number of mobs is very important, and it means that people need to be very efficient about how they play. You can't just spam your 1,2,3,444 because you need to rely on lower mana spells like DoT's and debuffs and stuff because they have bigger gains. (Anyone remember Splurt?)I don't want that kind of downtime but
Oh my mind is now totally changed.
