The emu community better hope EQL succeeds too, because they are in the crosshairs whether it succeeds or not. Its success is the only way DBG is going to allow them to continue. They only care about $$$, and letting people run free servers doesn't put any in their pockets, and ostensibly draws people away from live servers.

EQL succeeding will open more doors for the emu community, and provides them with an opportunity to work with DBG to do all the custom shit and probably even all the xpacs they want. EQL flopping will cause them to be given the Quarm/P99 option to shut all the custom shit down and implement server caps or be sued into oblivion if they don't shut down.

TLPs being shit are what sparked all this shit off in the first place. Last year's awful abortion of a TLP and the community pointing out THJ and being very vocal and public about playing it instead of the TLP is why DBG went after them hard. Part of all that nonsense was DBG saying they weren't aware of THJ, which was why they hadn't gone after them sooner. That argument won't hold up in the future, so one way or the other, once EQL gets their chance to shine, the emu community is going to get some consequences.
