So like what do you do with plat. I have 10k and already have all the spells.
The only source of Improved Damage III requires high jewelcrafting, which is a massive platinum sink, so that's something to use plat on.

Could always just find someone to craft you the needed items though

You can also buy a mount, and the fastest buyable one is like 120,000 plat or something. Paladin and SK mounts from AA are faster though (and free). So is bard's Selo once you get a good drum.

This likely "dies" near the end of summer(obviously it won't be zero, but it'll level off to somewhere around TLP level).

For casuals especially - as kids go back to school and the dopamine rush of nostalgia wears off for people that haven't played EQ in 25 years.

It's a "new shiny" for now, but even the hardcore are going to realize how little content classic has.

And once giant titles like GTA hit, nobody will even remember this was a "thing".

These kinds of things will be the cope for sure. But the primary driving force will be shit game design.

I know this server is the casual "dad server", but even I think the bar is too low. In a single week I made 50, cleared all D4 raids, cleared Sky, took about a dozen Bixie boss kills, but finally got my BiS 1h weap from Sky. I started toying with the idea of running new low comps, but .. the question is .. WHY?

Because it's fun. But again you're not really having fun, you're chasing a carrot on a stick and you caught the carrot. If the gameplay loop was better you probably would keep playing.

You have to buy the token on the cash shop. Each token costs $7.50 per armor that you want to transmog. You can also tranfer procs and things from one weapon to another using a different type of cash shop token.

Right click armor or weapon, and there is a list of things you can put on an armor or weapon.

I do have to laugh at the notion of putting one ultra low poly/fuzzy texture on a bit of gear for any price. Never know, there might be a fleet of thirsty shims hanging out near the Qeynos/Freeport bank cybering for cash and armor in their cute little leather pants.

Yea I was messing around in befallen last night and it is a lot better then I remember befallen being lol.

Level 12 now as pal/mnk/enc I am going to stick in befallen until 15 then hit up nejena because there is apparently a pretty decent pal one hander there. Things sped up alot once I hit 10, was pretty slow and tedious getting there but having quite a bit of fun now, can't wait till I get off work to hop back on lol.
There are 2 good 1h's in Befallen. The Barons Blade and an enchanted something that drops off the Knight. Go out the Baron room and make a left. Go through the door and 1st room has 3 mobs the next has 2 mobs plus the Knight.

It's almost as if you are describing the basis of the mmorpg genre in general, welcome to the party? Didn't you quit THJ because you had nothing left to do in PoP?

Also, it's intriguing how you flip flop between how they designed the game to be so harsh that customers rely on RMT to cap out, but simultaneously so easy that there's nothing to play for or do.

Ive been doing all the proc, clicky, etc stuff since beta. Definitely not paying for Transmog though. Saw some guy today with two black swords with green fire. I'm guessing he paid a bit.

I'm retarded and tried this. 40 brd/sk/zerk and 40 mnk/pal/enc for reference. Swapped off enc because ez mode.

The good:
Zone revamps for some zones with new named
Other zones with no PH's
Stances are kinda cool but feel like there's too many with some that aren't needed.
Rituals
Scribe all spells
Spell upgrades. Great except how it affects charm. -MR would be fine but I think locking in the max level it can charm up to would be a good fix to reduce how op it is.
Some of the upgrade systems such as moving effects/focus's around is pretty cool (really helps with brd).
Some classes get disc's for free (zerk for example gets snare/skull bash(interrupt)
Personal loot and the adv loot system in general is great for a more casual/solo playstyle.
Perm buffs/bard songs. Think dispels are still ass. They should steal THJ's method of just temporarily disabling the buff.

The bad:
1 char. Locking in a class at 11 feels bad if you don't end up liking the race/class/deity etc.. and can't just roll and alt and come back to the "bad" character later.
Melee feels like it could be better. Augs and AA's for proc crits/chance would have been great to give people more melee options other than "run melee+dedicated healer".
Gear is boring as fuck. Yay more +stats. Should have gone the THJ route and had a "max" rank for gear that added effects/focus etc.. Gear could also do with having some advanced stats like strikethrough/avoidance etc again, to make melee builds more attractive and viable.
2 charges of zone lockouts is dumb.
6hr group summon is retarded. THJ's "port group to instance" was superior and had no cooldown. The penalty was locking those people into your instance.
Launching with just classic is dumb and Kunark isn't until end of year? Unlocking races/classes isn't going to hold people over.
Enchanter and charm in general is OP as fuck. Good luck everyone else.

Given the stuff THJ and emu's in general are doing with the IP this feels pretty low effort. I'll get my time out of the intial month but that will be it.

I started toying with the idea of running new low comps, but .. the question is .. WHY?

I can already clear everything, why am I making new loadouts & builds to kill what I am already killing extremely efficiently? It's not like making new loadouts are allowing me to do something new, its just the exact same content with different classes.

I can see me doing some Fiery Avenger / Torrid Corrupter quests this week and then hitting a brick wall of boredom.

The main critique here is, I am killing D4 raids basically wearing Befallen gear. The linear progression they are trying to push doesn't exist. Why bother with D0, D1, D2, or D3? Just skip to the endgame. I certainly dont need +10 gear for anything whatsoever.
I'm having fun with the game, but their entire stat strategy with the revamped dungeons really kind of ruins the game. I used those stupid boots from the tutorial(they were +5) till lvl 49 when I got some planar boots. It doesn't seem well thought out. They are going to have a steep subscriber fall off by mid-September if not sooner. It's not like they can put the cat back in the bag either.

Can you still camp out in OOT for the Ancient Cyclops for your jboots? And then slow crawl with thousands of Silver on you to turn it in?

I'm pretty sure their code is a pile of shit that has been building up for 26 years, and is barely stable as it is. Look how long it takes us to zone...LOL. No different than with spinning old IDE hard drives.

Whatever backend they have running it all is bound to be ancient and patched together as it is...and the crew they have on this are probably 3 weeks out of HTML school. 2 charges of personal instances seems reasonable, otherwise there would be 4572087034 of them, and their Pentium 166 would crash.

Nope. Explain to me a pinnacle boss system. He's quitting effectively after the MSQ.

Didn't you quit THJ because you had nothing left to do in PoP?

Yes 3 months after i started playing it i was basically done and waiting for more content, had they been allowed to release LDoN or the SSF/HC modes they were working on i would've kept playing. Unfortunately the lawsuit was preventing them from releasing new content. These retards willing decided to stay in Classic for this long. A non-retarded dev team would've spent less time effort revamping low level shit that doesn't matter and realized getting Kunark faster is more important. But again, retards at the wheel.

Also, it's intriguing how you flip flop between how they designed the game to be so harsh that customers rely on RMT to cap out, but simultaneously so easy that there's nothing to play for or do.

Because i'm not taking those stances those are you strawmanning things i've said.
