RG died when we broke the rotation we had with them. They wanted the easier route of instanced raids and moved to Phinny.

I actually just quit game anyway, I have far too much RL stuff going on.

But if he can't find a guild to raid with at all on Phinny, it is certainly a viable option.

Best droppable weapons in Kunark for Monk are Stave of Shielding and Adamantite Club.

At level 60, fists become 0.605 ratio. Once epic, there is nothing remotely comparable (0.884 ratio)

Honorable mention is a T-Staff, but it is so expensive and rare that one usually gets their epic before having enough cash / luck for the drop. Epic makes it useless. Epic is also better than the VP Bo Staff. Hell, the ratio on Velious Primal Fists are still below epic fists. You are stuck with epic fists until Luclin most likely.

The haste is not stackable with any other haste buff, so really it is just used as an ATK buff. When you have no other haste spell on you, the epic clicky will haste any weapon you are using.

Haste also caps at 200. If you get the 41% haste belt from Sky, you will only want VoG haste on you.

You are also going to want to complete your shackle quest. It is seriously OP for an item. I would argue the quest took more work than the epic.

That epic fist damage ratio is not counting the haste. The Celestial Fist item, once worn will hard change your bare fists to 23/26. The clicky spell haste on top of that is just a bonus. Just like the clicky haste will also haste any weapons you hold. Ignore the epic click haste. It is effectively just a spell haste cast on you and any shaman or chanter haste will be higher haste % and take priority. The ATK bonus from the clicky still works, so it is worth using.

Epic fists = a raw change to the dmg / del.

By the way, you can copy your char over to Test server and parse on the training dummies over there to verify all of this. I am too lazy to copy and paste the parse work we did over here. Just ask any Monk who's been playing TLP and they will confirm.

The epic clicky haste is a 18 second duration spell and works like any other spell haste. You can use worn haste + spell haste, which DO stack. Spell haste + spell haste do not (higher takes priority), same as worn haste + worn haste do not stack (higher also takes priority).

As a Monk you are going to want to aim for Sky belt or Grey Suede Boots (VP) for 41% haste.

100 base + 41 worn + 58 VoG spell = 199

VoG haste will also give +20ATK, +25DEX, +40AGI.

Speed of the Shissar is 66% spell haste, but it is generally for tanks as it also buffs +12AC and +40AGI.

It isn't worth losing the ATK from VoG for the extra 1% haste from SoS.

As a Monk in Kunark I always keep this spreadsheet of all the quest drops I need from each zone and tend to knock them all out at once. Makes the Shackles much easier.

This was the first time I got another Robe of the Whistling Fist after my epic.

There's a number of reasons I made my monk Iksar. As you said, the AC bonus is pretty hefty and I was using him as a tank in my 6 box crew. You can also start the Shackle quest immediately without having to dick around with faction work on a Human. Do not rule out the Regen bonus as well. With Fungi Tunic, Fungi Staff, and level 60 you can regen pretty quick.

Regen Table:

Both Iksar and Trolls have higher HP regeneration rates (per tick):
Level 01-19: 4 sitting, 2 feigned, 2 standing
Level 20-49: 6 sitting, 2 feigned, 2 standing
Level 50: 8 sitting, 2 feigned, 2 standing
Level 51-55: 12 sitting, 8 feigned, 6 standing
Level 56-59: 16 sitting, 12 feigned, 10 standing
Level 60: 18 sitting, 14 feigned, 12 standing

Comparatively, these are the HP regeneration rates (per tick) for all other races:
Level 01-19: 2 sitting, 1 feigned, 1 standing
Level 20-49: 3 sitting, 1 feigned, 1 standing
Level 50: 4 sitting, 1 feigned, 1 standing
Level 51-55: 5 sitting, 3 feigned, 2 standing
Level 56-59: 6 sitting, 4 feigned, 3 standing
Level 60: 7 sitting, 5 feigned, 4 standing

Also to note: it is pretty handy as an Origin point during Kunark for mobilization if you are far away from porters. Cabilis is relatively central.
