So how does Lester try to take care of Malvo? Surely he has to know he can't do it himself. Does he go to the police and spill his guts in the hope that they can protect him? Theres not really anyone else left on the show that can help him out, his brother is locked up and those hitmen are out of the picture, I can't imagine who else he would go to for help other than the authorities.

Also, that "Malvo is the devil" comment earlier seems fairly accurate since he said "I haven't had apple pie this good since the Garden of Eden." I don't think he's literally the devil, LOST style or anything, but more a human version of what the devil is. All literary-like and shit.

And yeah, I think Malvo is satan incarnate or something. I didn't want to postulate because I haven't seen the movie and don't know if that's spelled out at the end somehow and don't want to spoil the show for myself.

Wow, glad you mentioned that, because I was thinking the same thing. I chalked it up to Malvo not really caring about being seen (as with the guy in that office building), but then as the episode progressed that didn't make as much sense.
I keep seeing Fargo on Netflix and I need to rewatch it since it's been many, many years.

Officer Molly did mention that the casino had security camera footage that they were sending over to the Bemidji police. I don't think most security cameras have audio, so even if the camera was from the elevator, all they would see out of Lester is standing there while Malvo shot the others, then when the elevator finally stopped, clocking Malvo in the head and running off. While I could definitely see why they would want to have him questioned as a prime witness, the silent footage wouldn't really implicate Lester in anything until the local Bemidji police see the footage and recognize Malvo and piece it together.
I don't think we're even going to get that far in the story though, the Lester/Malvo showdown has to be coming pretty quick.

I think Lester sets up some weasley and complicated plan for Malvo to fall into, Malvo sees through it, but Lester then has some kind of backup or spur of the moment stupid move that surprises Malvo. Something unforeseen happens with the pregnant cop and her husband/boyfriend where they save Lester from Malvo, but then Malvo has them pinned until the pregnant cop's dad saves them. Lester ends up getting killed somehow and Malvo gets away.

I would say "True Detective" was the best show since BB...but Fargo is up there!
The last 5 years have had some great shows.
Yeah, they're different and I don't think it's fair to compare them in terms of better or worse, but I prefer Fargo. True Detective is so heavy while Fargo doesn't take itself so seriously.
