The event was absolutely true and I'm pretty sure the year is about right because it was around the time I went through boot camp. I'm not 100% it came from here, but I don't know where the hell else I would have gotten it from unless it was Hoofshots or whatever site Coffee & TV ended up at.

edit: whoever went to that thing also posted pictures. There were a bunch of pictures of dudes in masks & t-shirts, naked from the waist down.
I worked in the network operations center when I signed those two virgins up and emailed around a screenshot of filling in his information. One of the questions was something like "Why do you want to participate in this historic event?", and I filled in "I want my first time to be with someone special, or at least semi-famous". The guy that ended up getting an invite to the event was pissed at first, but we almost had him talked into going by offering to pay for the airfare & hotel, +$500.

Random question.

Other than hoofshots - what happened to coffee &tv, potam, mippo? There were a few other names that are slipping my mind. Anyone seen them around the internet lately?

I had a ton of fun with coffee &TV. Back when Myspace was a thing we both made fake thott Myspace accounts, friended each other and random. Then we can up with these elaborate posts to seem like we were real. We'd get messages from tons of creepy guys and I would take one's phone number and give it to another guy and tell him to call me. Took them a while to catch on. Then we killed off coffee&TV's thot very tragically rofl. Something like a car crash where she was mangled or some shit. We also posted HTML redirects on their Myspace comments so anyone who visited their Myspace profile would be redirected to gay porn.

We were wee shitheads back then. I may need to track him down.

Things change man. I can't be the same shithead I was on this forum past. I still feel bad for what I did to Shelly. I still do partake in social engineering and other fun stuff with The Database(tm) for research purposes but I've only deemed my powers for good.

There may have been a guild called Ascent on Maelin Starpyre but that's not the Ascent they are referring to in their post. The Ascent guild on Medivh was formed on the Rodcet Nife EQ server originally. They were the top guild on the server from around the end of Kunark to GoD. Everyone in the guild got WoW beta invites and almost everyone moved over to WoW. While on Medivh their claim to fame was killing Ragnaros first in all of WoW. It was patched shortly after to fix the mechanic used to win and they didn't get the world first on the new version.

Some time during classic they moved as a guild from Medivh to Thrall because well...I can't remember why actually. They continued to be the top horde guild on Thrall all the way until Legion.

Source: Was in Ascent in EQ and WoW. Still have a character in it to this day on Thrall.

I admit, we were as brutal as you could be on a pve server when it came to protecting our mobs. I remember in classic a GM telling us we had to let CT try Vox because they were formed and ready to engage. We did our best to put pressure on them which led to them rushing and then wiping. We then ran in and killed it.

I don't recall ANYONE killing a dragon besides us (foh) until late kunark. I ended my days towards the end of Velious so cannot say after that but we were dedicated none the less.

Legion killed both pre-Kunark. Phinny too. I believe we also got CT and Inno. Fallie can confirm?

I miss that about old mmos, playin from work. When u have to press 2-3 buttons every 1-2 secs and dance like a monkey it’s much harder to ‘work’ while playing
