Just a reminder in these times: those 25k/year will never be adjusted for inflation...
Sure, but if you watch your pennies and maintain what you have, you could coast for a few decades. The key is not living beyond your means. Of course who knows when hyperinflation will hit and wipes everyone out. You could also work part time and still supplement your income.

More than 40 camels have been disqualified from Saudi Arabia's beauty pageant for receiving Botox injections and other cosmetic enhancements.
The contest is a highlight of the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival, where $66m (£45m) in prize money is at stake.
Key attributes include long, droopy lips, a big nose and a shapely hump.
Judges used "advanced" technology to uncover tampering with camels on a scale not seen before, the state-run Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
All contestants were first led into a hall where their external appearance and movements were examined by specialists, it said.
Their heads, necks and torsos were then scanned with X-ray and 3D ultrasound machines, and samples were taken for genetic analysis and other tests.

Interesting way to address the problem.
I guess if you’re going to make a product illegal that’s the best way to do it. Make a cutoff for people already on the product and don’t allow new ones by pushing the age out until everyone that’s allowed is dead. More likely is the business is unprofitable and gone by then but whatever.

yes, thats how you stop smoking, by telling kids they cant have it. that worked real well with marijuana.

Sex as well. Now you tell them they can have it if it's safe, few want to have it.

Pure you can’t. What they do is try to cut product with trace amounts of these drugs to boost potency. But because they are so potent, it doesn’t take much to push the street drug into the lethal range. Or if the user assumes the heroin/cocaine is “normal”, they might take more of it and unknowingly push themselves into overdose land because of the addition of these drugs into the product

that kinda defeats the purpose of having such a potent narcotic. if it has to be diluted to an extent that almost none of it is used, then you're really only taking the filler. and what is it being cut with? arsenic?

It’s cost effective to these dealers. You use small quantities of a cheap, but potent drug to boost the impact of a more expensive drug, so you have to use less of the more expensive one

Take street variety of fentanyl as a recent example

Drugs this potent make sense to manufacture for organized crime. The amount you make is much smaller, easier to produce (fewer precursors), smuggle or conceal, and the value is much higher by weight. An intravenous user will be diluting and dissolving the drug in water anyway to prepare it for injection.

Nearly all drugs, are cut with all kinds of shit, everything from baby lax and talcum powder to other drugs like novocaine. Most dealers do not want their client base dying, so they tend to use cheap, innocuous cutting agents. Drugs are generally pure at source, then they'll be cut by the source to something like 90%, the importer will then cut to 80 -70% and the wholesaler will cut to 50% ish and your lower echelon dealers will cut that to anything from 25% to 5%. All these cuts could be different, and they'll all be in the drug when the end user ingests it.

If you ever watch a film and someone is fixing up a shot, they'll be dissolving the drugs into water, then they'll be filtering the drug, normally with cotton wool. The heating up part burns off a lot of cutting agents, and the cotton wool just stops horrible cuts and general shit getting into their veins.

People do take Fentanyl on its own and without a cut. But you need to know what the fuck you are doing dosing wise, which most junkies don't given their lifestyle. You can score pure Fentanyl very easily on the dark web, but most junkies wouldn't bother unless they have serious cash, as it isn't cheap to buy any abusable drug in its purest form. A pure drug is much safer as the user can find the LD50 of a given drug quite easily and take it from there.

Interesting bits about how the construction technique used in these buildings makes them a deathtrap.
I work around these and agree. They’re just prefab slabs stood up and welded together. They have steel beams at 45 degree angles holding them up until the roof beams tie them together. I’ve seen them fall over in high winds (nowhere near tornado levels) during construction. Every warehouse is doing this method. They go up extremely fast.

Many of them have reinforced concrete stair wells that serve as the tornado shelters. Kind of surprising that warehouse didn’t have that.

That's because it wasn't a multi-floor warehouse that stores product. It was a Delivery Station, which are all one floor structures that sort out items that are already in their final boxes to put into vans and deliver to people within the next day. Most of that square footage there was taken up by inside parking for their vans.
