Well, it’s official. I’m meeting her parents in less than two weeks. They’re having a graduation dinner / party at their house and I’m invited. All her friends will be there, grandfather, and other family members. SO. That won’t be at all nerve wracking. 
At least I’ve already met her friends a couple of times. I’m happy to go though. It was meaningful for her to ask.

As far as social media goes, I just flat out won't allow it until they are 18. Not trying to convince you Noodle, but more to explain my perspective. Looking at our generation who didn't get a hold of it until well after adulthood and how retarded 99% of the population is with it, I don't see how it's a good thing to let children who don't know any better to have access to it as well.
Kids can fly off the handle and act before they think. So something they post today that is funny as hell, is all of a sudden extremely embarrassing ten years down the line when they are out looking to get a high end job. There are also legal ramifications too. Again, as someone else said, if they are under 18, any picture involving themselves in any state of undress, is considered child porn. And not only is your kid responsible as the recipient or trafficker of said child porn, you are as well if any of it resides on a device connected to your home network. Then you add in the social anxiety that social media piles on, and it's just crazy.
With that said, things that are like the old days of anonymous presence are all fine. They both have PSN accounts (under my parent account), and Roblox etc etc. As long as the world at large do not see them as my thing 1 and thing 2, and they follow my absolute rule of no real information is to be given out, we are cool. Then I have a basic web filter to keep all the porn at bay. If my son wants access to it, he has to earn it like I did and find some dusty ass VHS somewhere.

I think either way, as long as you're active in your kids lives they are mostly gonna turn out ok. My brother and I were basically left to our own devices all day and night, and it's a miracle we turned out alright.
On the wife side things have been interesting. She's still trying to bone nonstop, she's been cleaning, cooking, etc. It's like a light switch got flipped on or something. I've been going to the gym at 430am and working until 6pm, plus making more money so maybe that's part of it. Tough to say. Life's pretty good. I wish she would clean more and not jam pack our weekends so much is my biggest complaint. I can't really relax on the weekends because she's planning shit from sun up to sun down.

Protecting kids on social media isn't necessarily about how they turn out vs them being victimized by someone else. Social media is a trash for adults, let alone kids.

It does for us. It's still hardware based and the devices the kids have are basic enough that it's really hard to skirt around. IE they don't have full on PCs. Just tablets and the Playstations, which I can turn off web browsing, and I have. If some slips through and we retroactively find it, I'm not sweating it. I viewed my fair share of nakeditity in my youth, and I was fine. Just don't want them to have full unfettered access either.

It's kind of easy to say that now because your kids are so young. Our eye opener was when my son and his step cousin got involved in a pretty raunchy conversation with a girl they met at a gathering. But I do have to be fully transparent though. Some of this is because my wife was one of those that absolutely freaked out about the stupid Momo thing, and I have to do some shit to make her feel better about her self. She is constantly at the ready to 100% ban them from all online. IE cut out YouTube. It's like the women from the 70s wanting to ban rock and roll because it was infecting our youth. Same story different generation.
