Think positive. The oldest boys won't be on the street when you kick them out after they graduate. We're both more concerned on how our x's parent than we do, way to much to get into here that is ultimately nothing we can do about

I'm probably the worst person on earth to give any advice about kids, so listen to everybody else instead, but imo, the oldest ones probably have their minds on everything except what's happening at home. They've got one foot and 10 brains out the door already (or if they don't, you've got other problems... go teach her oldest to weld or something). And the younger ones could probably benefit from having both a mom/dad living together in a healthy relationship.no way could we wait ... 8 years before we lived with each other. I don't know if she's good w/ 2.5, and that's assuming both oldest actually move out after high school. i'm pushing mine to college, her oldest doesn't want to.
What weird goals? Maybe he can get whatever stupid out of his system and then go back and use the GI bill?no, neither x is married. I bring my 2 to see my parents every other week so they can see 'happily ever after'. my parents are coming up on 55 years, both my grand parents were close to 60 before one on each side died.
her oldest has some weird goals, that his father either supports or is the model of. i plan to encourage him in ways I htink are best. but the kid has no intention of going to college, despite having a free ride due to his father's time in the army.
He thinks he'll start a small business right after high school, think vape shop, yet can't get motivated to get his driver's license 6 months after turning 16. I'm being intentionally vague as I don't put much stock in the life goals of any teenager. What weird goals? Maybe he can get whatever stupid out of his system and then go back and use the GI bill?

I mean, he's smarter than average either way. As a white male you go to college to be a deadbeat loser with $400k in debt because no one will hire you.If he has no intention of going to college because he wants to pursue a trade I'd say that kid is already smarter than 99% of kids his age. If he doesn't want to go to college because he wants to be a deadbeat loser... well
