Well, the Cards continued their postseason dominance of Kershaw. 8 runs in the 7th inning, just wow. Carpenters at-bat was awesome.
I get the complaints about the Cards, but it's all nothing more than thinly veiled jealously from fans of teams who didn't make the postseason 11 out of the past 15 seasons. I'm not originally from St. Louis, grew up a couple hours away in Indiana. But I moved to St. Louis in April of this year specifically for the purpose of being able to go to lots of games (with my job it doesn't matter where I live as long as there's a decent airport nearby) and live 8 blocks from the stadium. This is definitely a baseball town. Check the attendance figures for the year, the Cards drew the second most. The Dodgers were number 1 as always because they have a humongous stadium and an even larger pool of nearby fans. The Cards sold 99.4% of their tickets for the entire year with a bottom-third sized metro area, no other team in baseball had a percentage that high. And the Cards stadium is not small, sold out is around 45k. Complain all you want but Cards fans support their team with the money in their pockets, they show up to the games. It's not like a lot of cities where the stadium is full and loud for a postseason game, whoopty-do it should be. The Cards stadium is full and loud for a game in mid-May.
