Still baffled by that Fister trade. Nathan will certainly help though. Could have used him about 6 weeks ago.

Sox landed Pierzynski. Hate the move. Pains me to have to root for this douche. At least it's just a 1 year deal. Meh.

Dumping Fielder was enough to lock down Scherzer they didn't need to go full retard on that Fister trade like they did. I'm pretty pissed over it still.

The trade hurt us more than helped. I wasn't opposed to dealing Fister, he was arguably the best piece of trade bait we had that I was willing to let go and we would have been able to get a decent return out of him. That trade is all sorts of fucked up.

I am beyond confused at this point. I just don't understand any of the moves he makes anymore.
It's a marginal move with marginal overall impact, but it shows how flawed their decision making is now. My hatred for Bloomquist that burns with the fire of a thousand suns aside, you simply don't do multiyear deals with guys like that, and you sure as hell don't do it so early in the offseason. You wait until rosters get cut down in spring training, and you see who you like of who becomes available then.

The consensus seems to be that Jack is a very good scout but has no idea how to put together a major league roster.

Trading Fister didn't even make sense from a payroll angle. The dude was set to make 15 million over the next two years which is a steal.

He's amazing, but I don't know how well he'll age. Plus by all accounts Jay Z is utterly incompetent as an agent, so he's got that working against him.

There's about a .00001% chance of that. I actually DON'T think he's going to end up back with the Yankees, but I don't see him coming here.

Cano is getting 7/175 minimum. After watching his lackadaisical play with the Yankees for years, teams like the Mariners would be crazy to make him the center piece of their franchise.

He's just using the Mariners' desperation to drive up his price tag.
No doubt about it. The Mariners have the cash. Cano has his ring. If the Mariners give him 8 years or more at 25m per, which the Yanks flat out say 7 is far as they will go. I could see him taking it. I can see the Yanks going 30m per though on a shorter contract.

There are scenarios under which it could happen, but Seattle isn't an attractive destination for free agents at this point. It's an utterly directionless franchise that will be mediocre until they get smarter people in charge.

I was so fucking excited about Jack Z at first, but it became clear pretty quickly that he was out of his league.

Tigers are now in hot persuit of Choo, looks like they will end up getting him.

I'm happy with it because it'll give me a reason to say his name more often.

They really need to stop dragging their feet though and sign someone to play a corner in their damn infield though.

Always liked Choo. He's brutal against lefties, but grinds at bats. They get much better in the outfield as well. Great sign if they land him.
