Yeahh... after the discourse on the disco think I am sitting this game out. The way they are handling this "BETA" test is just weird. It seems counter to how it should be done taking into account the modern MMO player. That and asking a question got me timed out. Very mature...

On p99 there were 3 month waiting lists for Raster of Guk, and if it spawned while you were logged out too fucking bad lmao
That server has fewer than 2000 players. Imagine a contested world with triple that.

was the dude he said he either never played classic EQ, or never played it outside an official TLP. If I'm remembering correctly, he simply has no idea what's coming unless NWC curates every access quest and progression critical spawn perfectly. Could be someone else though.- 1

And it's extra new content so people will be extra autism about content. It's my major concern about the game right now. It's hard to justify the time to level up a character when the poopsockers rule the world, and you get nothing out of it at the end. Most people blowing it off have not played on P99. Green is 3+ years old and people are still bat phoning shit. On Green, guilds bat phoned Drusella in Howling Stones. It's that extreme.
In the end I feel there is a middle. We'll see what they come up with, but if it's EQ style contesting, I will more than likely tap out on this game. The time needed for investment isn't worth it.

It's not something limited to EQ. Any MMO that didn't instance fell prey to the same shitbag players that clamor to keep instancing out. It's a soft PVP mechanic that lets the nolifers take a big old shit on the casuals in perpetuity. You either have to instance or let everyone who tags the mob get equal credit for loot and xp and quest credits.I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure
