Sorry, I am not cool enough to play MNM. Asking if they thought about the social engineering aspect annd how people are likely to gatekeep after having 12 weeks of Beta access is just too much lame.lol alovingrobot just said "don't be mad when we time you out on discord for being lame." I'm guessing that's our Vegee boy.
People in this thread are far too worried about winning, or more likely about other people winning the endgame in a grandpa pixel simulator. Relax, neckbeards will in fact clear content, it will all work out so you'll get to see it too if you play long enough.Sorry, I am not cool enough to play MNM. Uh… like 90% of people who aren’t a no life dork? lolLegitimately who cares if some no life dorks monopolize content for a while?

On p99 there were 3 month waiting lists for Raster of Guk, and if it spawned while you were logged out too fucking bad lmao
That server has fewer than 2000 players. Imagine a contested world with triple that.
And it's extra new content so people will be extra autism about content. It's my major concern about the game right now. It's hard to justify the time to level up a character when the poopsockers rule the world, and you get nothing out of it at the end. Most people blowing it off have not played on P99. Green is 3+ years old and people are still bat phoning shit. On Green, guilds bat phoned Drusella in Howling Stones. It's that extreme. On p99 there were 3 month waiting lists for Raster of Guk, and if it spawned while you were logged out too fucking bad lmao

It's not something limited to EQ. Any MMO that didn't instance fell prey to the same shitbag players that clamor to keep instancing out. It's a soft PVP mechanic that lets the nolifers take a big old shit on the casuals in perpetuity. You either have to instance or let everyone who tags the mob get equal credit for loot and xp and quest credits.I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sureFlobee was the dude he said he either never played classic EQ, or never played it outside an official TLP. If I'm remembering correctly, he simply has no idea what's coming unless NWC curates every access quest and progression critical spawn perfectly. Could be someone else though.
At least a few of us get it.And it's extra new content so people will be extra autism about content. It's my major concern about the game right now. In the end I feel there is a middle. We'll see what they come up with, but if it's EQ style contesting, I will more than likely tap out on this game. The time needed for investment isn't worth it.
Sounds like this game just isn't for you. Run along little WoW kiddie. The rest of us real men will be drowning in poon, because we're hardcore casual dads that give zero fucks!! We're all about the F..U..N!At least a few of us get it.
To add. It's not just pixels from raids, it's EVERYTHING. Pixels, socialization, economy, image. Everything! I appreciate their desire to kind of recreate EQ and then add in newer hardcore shit (or w/e the vision is), but the fact you are somehow allowing certain guilds and people to miraculously make it to BETA for 10-12 weeks, is off-putting. Like my hype went from 100 to 0. Who would enjoy a grind that's probably going to suck balls because the best zones will be kept hidden and taken by these "cool" dudes for six months, making it stupidly fucking tedious to play the game? Nobody. Now who the hell is going to enjoy the fuckfest of camping items and dungeons and w/e the fuck you have for endgame knowing they'll have it on lockdown within a few weeks tops? Well only them, because the design philosophy is only going to reward those types.
I can't believe they didn't see this. The only thing I can think of is that they literally have 0 endgame, and don't intend to, in which case people will be more pissed as it takes us "uncool" dudes six-9 months to max lvl. But hey, wtf do I know? I can piss of on the new EQ TLP and still have fun while they figure out they most likely fukt the pooch.

I was toddling around Everquest in 1999 on my Dad's account. My brain literally formed playing this stupid game. I obsessively read over the manual during server downtime or played the tutorial over and over again, I'm as retarded as the rest of you, or more.I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sureFlobee was the dude he said he either never played classic EQ, or never played it outside an official TLP. My main point is most of you aren't going to be competing with the sweaty boys so why do you care if they get there first because they have "12 weeks" of knowledge? If NWC fails to address the issue and it starts affecting the majority of the playerbase sure whine away, but getting all bent about a theoretical issue in an unreleased game is just weird to me. I totally understand the argument I just happen to enjoy a game where those that work the hardest are rewarded over those that don't. I'm emphatically NOT one of those people, but I still think it makes a game world that has more appeal.... assuming it is managed in a way that isn't awful.
P99 is an example of awful management in a game that CAN'T be changed so they literally can't do anything but rule lawyer about it. Its a dumb comparison because presumably this game, being actively developed, will work to adjust to make things stay fun even if they're unfair for dadlifers.
