I'm surprised netherworld chargers are an option. Really they shouldn't be droppable at all, they're way too OP, but I use them of course. What did you need to do to equip them?

I know I cocked over the hero army with maltise (Dread legion) and got that bulky maltise armor. I really like that you can kill those 'bosses' and basically get special drops. In some ways I wish that was true like it is for lieges (Where if you finally defeat them you can get their weapon).

I'm wondering if you can get:
the gemmed weapons (ex: ruby 2H sword) or some of the special weapons (ex: orator baccus sword or wolfbode's axe)
noldor spirit horse (Ithilrandir/aeldarian?)
noldor rune armor(Ithilrandir/aeldarian?)
demon armor (Eyegrim?)
Eventide Helm
wolfbode's armor

from killing the special armies .

I'm guessing you're using an ebony katana? I chose the ebony long sword.

Netherworld Chargers just require that your honor knights have a high enough ride skill (6 or 7, I forget). All the available options just require that your dudes have a high enough strength, shield, or ride skill respectively. My dudes are at 55 str and it didn't unlock any new weapons beyond the strange ebony saber that unlocked back at like str 18. I can't even begin to imagine how ridiculously OP your dudes would be with rune or special weapons, ebony weapons are already pretty freakin obscene.

I've gotten spirit horses from the named noldor armies before, they also can spawn in the noldor town store, and the vendor in laria who unlocks with a qualis gem always has a spirited spirit horse that is abso-fuckin-lutely retard level fast.

Although now that they made it so honor knight chapter houses can randomly spawn armies in addition to knight errant and secular knight groups, it seems like the best use of your qualis gems is to create as many chapters as you possibly can. I honestly wouldn't even bother with the 3 qualis gems it takes for a rune weapon.

Ah I didn't know that the Laria merchant always had a noldor spirit horse. I've literally never seen one drop and I've killed armies of noldor.

You don't have the Maltise Asp Armor available for your dudes, do you? I'm under the impression that many of the special armies unlock special weapons/armor, I know the maltise asp armor was unlocked by killing the dread legion spawn.

Nope. Can you buy Doom guide leather? Someone else killed the seers in my game.

I haven't killed the seers yet, but Maltise gave me the option to upgrade my troops when I captured her. I could either get the 50k, get the qualis gem or get the armor upgrade. So armies without a hero (Ex the doom seers) probably don't have the upgrade option.

Yeah I'm a huge asshole for not giving Queefgin his qualis gem from the start. I assumed it'd be a bunch of dumpy noldor items instead of full sets of lordly gear.

How did you guys get enough honor to make your own order? I've been doing everything I can to get more for hours and still only have about 40. For now I established a regular order, and does anyone know what happens if you gain enough rank/standing with them? I completed all the quests and they just seem to repeat. Is there any point to keep doing them?

Getting 70 honor isn't trivial. The best way is to capture noldor troops and release them (consequentially that's the best way to raise your noldor rep too). Of course, capturing noldor troops without a good force of doomguides (or the order troops you don't have that come with maces) is difficult. The second best way is to let lords go, which is generally a good idea to raise rep with different lords (if you care about that sort of thing).

I wish there was a way to know which villages were occupied by bandits, you get a couple honor from it and it's one of the more fun and lawful good quests to do. There's nothing like running down a bunch of weak ass bandits in a village.

Never actually got to the point where I could used order troops. Can you get more than one type of Order troops? Or do you pick one and are stuck with those? I don't want to found my own if I can't get some of the shadow legions too.

You get one per fort/town you own (and can have multiple of the same one). I believe you can only be a member of one at a time (but I have no idea what benefits being in one has).

They give you armor and troops as you rank up. By the time you reach constable with Shadow Legion (2nd highest rank...as high as I've gotten) you'll have received 3 or 4 sets of mail, with lordly mail (BP is +61 body and something like +20 to legs) coming with the constable rank. You also get about 20 Centurions and 50 Marinus, which is really nice. You can do the "I'd like to try something more challenging" quest where you swap out your own troops for a bunch of cents and marinus (most I've gotten was 50 Cent, 75 Marinus) and try to reach a high amount of renown with those troops within 20 days. It's pretty easy if you're at war, and you'll destroy pretty much anything.

As far as capturing Noldor troops, the easiest way I've found is to be the lord of an Eastern castle/city. Ethos and Laria both get large Noldor prisoner dumps from your allies, and within a week of owning Ethos I had gone from -20 to +15, and was able to do the Noldor city quest.

Did you help them with a battle and give them a bunch of shit troops? lol.

In one of my playthroughs I did that with the militias and had 20ish town militias rolling 1000+ troops deep.

Nah, wasn't me, I didn't have anything to do with this one. Looks like they got attacked by a Jatu army and got help to kill them off. Not really shit troops considering the 322 Jatu Raiders (not terrible), and 164 Jatu Lancers (even better). A good amount of Empire troops mixed in, too.

imo:
netherworld charger (Unless you can get them the noldor spirit horse)
not sure on the chest piece. I'm using the maltise chest because it took only 53 days to complete. The best is prob the ebony platemail unless you can get them the noldor rune armor.
ebony long sword
doom mace
ancient shield thing
heavy greaves
mettenheim gauntlets
eventide helmet/cape

You might want throw on another shield (to cover their backs) or some javelins/throwing knives. If you don't want the massive income boost from having elite blunt-wielders you could throw a composite bow + arrows with your shield/sword. However nothing is faster at killing than a cavalry charge with sword/shield. Having your troops running around on horseback with bow/arrows is a waste of time. In sieges however it's very good.

The thing that makes it difficult to say what's best is I'm not sure what named armies drop what gear. When I captured Maltise in the '50k, qualis, kill, release' dialog there was a 'I can teach you how to equip your knights with my gear' option. So far she's the only person who has given me that option. I haven't been able to capture the two noldor lords (despuite having wiped out their army 4 times while they were >20% health). There might be a list somewhere of the armies that drop order loot but it's a bit irrelevant to know since you have no way to chose which armies spawn (Though I guess you could make the decision to get a qualis gem instead of getting the armor if you didn't want it).

Frankly I really like the order-gear drop mechanic and wish all the top tier gear was delivered in the same way.

In terms of order I'd go:
1. Doom mace
2. Immortal shield
3. A good chest (There's no default standouts for an intermediate chest, the one I used, maltise, must be acquired through capturing the maltise hero)
4. Ironbred Charger
5. The golden crown helm
6. Some boots
7. mettenheim gloves

From then upgrade what you want.

I just don't see how you can stand to wait so fucking long for this shit. What's the total upgrade time with that loadout, Tuco?

I wouldn't bother with bow & arrows on your knights, I'd instead upgrade your sergeants to be siege specialists. Assuming you have the money to upgrade your knights and sergeants at the same time.

And I really think they should do away with having a companion train your order and instead just have them start with normal noble stats. It makes no sense that a knight would suddenly become a bumbling moron because he joined a knighthood order.

I dunno, like a couple years. You'll likely get that loadout before Lethaldrin finishes fully capping your troops. Plus once you get an intermediate horse + breastplate + shield + doom mace (aka finish step 4, should take 200ish days) your order's equipment is already amazing anyway.

The thing about Pendor is that the endgame can consist of waiting for noldor tournaments, waiting for armies to spawn, waiting for another war to start up, waiting for cities to upgrade and now waiting for your troops to upgrade. Dumping your army in your city and just waiting via ctrl-space is no big deal.

I did the same thing with my sergeants.

The thing about sieges is that if you have very powerful companions and order troops you can instigate defendors into coming off their walls and attacking you during the siege which means you can freely slaughter their troops without dealing with the fucked up ladders and siege towers.
