Not putting Orks as one of the four decks is a mistake, IMO. Would be a much better draw for a crossover because Orks are one of the few factions in 40k that's "fun". They have to go ultra hard and make everything super grimdark when 40k used to have a little bit more humor and lightheartedness to it a long time ago.

One of the SL drops is Orks. Could very well be an Orks deck, since they've already made a SL Commander deck. Guess we'll see.

I still like drafting / sealed and try to slave through my dailies to be able to play them.
kind of feels like I either get 6-7 wins or get destroyed completely. I’m still grateful to be able to play online as I hate card shop nerds, but enjoy the game - especially how it often comes down to how much pain you can take or should take when holding onto removal or whether to play your bombs. Magic is poker ish

Started playing again. Found a local comic shop while marketing and they do casual commander nights. It's a small shop so there's only 6-7 but they are an older crowd and all seem mostly chill. I haven't played since Weatherlight so they let me borrow some decks to get back into the swing of things. Bought a commander deck (The Kitt Kanto Goad deck) and a few boosters.
Jury is still out on Arena. I did all the promo codes I could find for cards but playing online isn't scratching the itch like in person.

This group is a Pastor and his wife in their 60's, a quiet nerdy guy with an acceptable BMI, two married high school teachers in their late 40's, your token annoying teenager who wants to win, and a lesbian. Everyone had good hygiene so that's covered.
There's a much larger game store in town where it might be too edgy and serious for me.
Since youre good at it, I did a draft last night and ended up 1-3. Do you do any streams or recommend any streamers or channels to help me get better at that?
I think my biggest weaknesses are deck building (both draft and non-draft), when to mulligan, and stuff in Arena not working the way I thought it should. I played a "whenever x creature comes into play, y happens." As a response some guy played a black card(not a counterspell), and it resolved but the comes into play effect never went onto the stack?

Arena takes all my money because it is a lot cheaper than real cards.
I basically do what mist does but with half the success. I do non stop sealed with around 50 dollars worth of gems and I buy the packs 50 for 50 prerelease.
After I ran out of gems I have around 100 packs to open plus the ones I opened during sealed so it is around 150 packs I opened I get 4x of almost every rare and almost 2x of every mistic, with plenty of wildcards.
So I can make any deck I want.
Right now I'm having a great time doing broken things on explorer with a yorion omnath elemental deck.
So much fun.

Is it possible to F2P this without being a pro tour level player?
I played when it came out and spent all my wildcards on an ok-ish Ixalan Merfolk deck, so I was locked into only playing that and got bored.
I'm worried that you can maybe make one deck F2P then you are stuck. Also what's the cost of draft? I'm decent at constructed but pretty bad at that sort of quick deckbuilding.

You can do your dailies over a long enough timeline and work your way up to whatever you want. But it's certainly going to take a lot longer if you're not good.

Justice Strike seems pointless now that Winota is banned. Better shit that interacts with Yorion could go in that slot.

Sample size of 3 but looks like my main problem was not enough reps and not knowing the cards in the set for drafting. After taking a good beating all week playing games it's getting better. First draft I went 1-3 trying RG with Black splash. Second time I went 3-3, and third draft I went 7-2. Only doing Quick Draft though so I can take my time on my card picks and stop when needed.
3-3 and 7-2 decks in order. I screwed up a lot of plays on that 3-3 run too. (Also I've never won a draft tournament so kind of happy about that).

Halo Scarab is one of the weaker 2 drops, but having enough 2drops is really important in this format.
If you're going to draft blue, consider taking Make Disappear more highly. It's one of the better limited counterspells ever, and you can use it early or late.

You can't build decks on individual card ratings alone, but definitely pay attention to what are the best cards in the 2 and 3 drop slots in each color archetype.

Your first deck is actually a really good deck, except for that fact that Rumor Gatherer and Fencer are cards you don't really want more than 1 of, despite the fact that you have two Exotic Pets. That first deck really needed a Rooftop Nuisance. Two Broker's Initiates is not generally good either, you generally want 1 or 0 depending on the deck.
You generally do not want more than 2 1-mana cards in a draft deck unless there's a very specific reason for them.
