The more competitive the playoffs are the better for the league I would think. It's great seeing fresh faces taking down the old guard so to speak.

It's good for invested fans, not so good for casual fans that want name recognition.

LeLoser showing his true colors after going one and done for first time in his career. He is done being the Alpha who drags his teams to NBA Finals.

Father Time undefeated. But he's having a rough time getting his W over Brady.

This right here. You REALLY want one of the LA teams in the finals, until the kids become household names outside their respective markets.

To be fair, without Davis, he might as well be playing with you and I out there. He's dragging a lot of baggage out there.

This really brings his GOAT argument down a notch. Him just giving up did not look good.

Ratings were going to be down these playoffs no matter who made it. Now they'll just use the lack of tent-pole teams as an excuse rather than address why they've lost marginal bball fans.

NBA fucked up by believing that LeBum would cry his way to first round series win and not fixing the results of the series right off the bat

No one really cares about the Clippers. The next great thing to happen will be Brooklyn losing to either the Bucks or the Sixers so this super-team nonsense is no longer such a thing

No one cares about the LAC except, you know, the fans in second largest NBA market. And you know, the fans of one of the NBA's biggest star. Ya. No interest there.

And how is it great if Brooklyn loses? Unfortunately this super team thing will exist for quite some time, because its a rarity now that a super team doesn't win it.

Loaded teams have always been a thing in the NBA. People are just mad that it's the players doing it now instead of front offices back when players had no power.

*sigh* I'm in Boston. If the Celtics don't make it I want to see the biggest stars play. Brooklyn has 3 top 12 stars? Out west you have a few big names still playing. KL is probably the biggest name in the biggest market that's left. No need to be fans of the team man. Just the players.

This!!! When Red Auerbach drafts Bird a year early, trades for McHale the following season with the 1st round pick that would be top 5 because the Celtics still suck, and signs Dennis Johnson as a FA, he's a genius. When LeBron goes to Miami to join D-Wade and gets Bosch to go with him, he's a spoiled traitor.

You can go back way further than that. The Russell Celtics were a whole starting squad of HoF players. People talk shit about Wilt not winning, but once he had Baylor and West he did win.

Except the market keeps owners in check from easily making super teams. In hindsight the McHale/Parish trade was lopsided but the Celtics still needed the Warriors to agree to it. When players form super teams there's no checks and balances. Super stars are already in fuck off money territory so there's not much a club can do to keep things fair.

Most fans are fans of a team first, and players second. Don't act surprised when fans resent players improving their situation at the expense of the hometown team.

There's a lot of moving parts to it. Individual capped salaries is a huge part of it. Basically every all star level player's 2nd contract is a max deal so they all get paid roughly the same and the Bird rights aren't nearly enough to make much difference in that. Get rid of that and you won't have Lebron and Kemba Walker making basically the same salary. This would likely push ring chasing to the end of careers and not right after a players first or 2nd contract. League wants to bitch about it, but it's their own fault because of the dumb shit they agreed to during the various CBA negotiations.

This really brings his GOAT argument down a notch. Him just giving up did not look good.

What kills this argument, is that he chose these guys. He controls who he plays with more than any other player and has for over a decade. His buddy agent got AD there in really questionable ways. He’s a spoiled child and this is what a high school educated GM looks like. If the team he has isn’t good enough, that’s on him and him slone

I have a serious question. Do you truly enjoy these dudes who cry, whine, and give up over the new, hard running kids? Luka, Trae , Ayton, Mitchell, Jokic , Simmons, Tatum, Morant, etc, etc. These guys are electric. Fun as fuck to watch!

LaBum just cries. Harden whines all game. Kyrie, who knows which guy shows up. Street Clothes may play, same with CP. Are they really more fun to watch for you? I love watching the Young Guns. The Old Whiners, not so much.

100%. The new generation is the most exciting generation in basketball to me since Kobe, Duncan, Dirk, Nash, etc. They are all breaths of fresh air compared to the stench that Lebron, CP3, Melo, etc have left on the NBA. That entire generation of players has been both the NBA's greatest growth vehicle internationally, and the source of it's ratings demise domestically. People don't like bitches. Period.

Why Luka needs to knock off the whining to the ref bs, it's a turnoff and going to taint his otherworldly abilities.
