Star Citizen Online - The search for more money

I think Chris' dreams far exceeded practical expectations. If he would've just stuck to a basic space MMO, it would've launched already, and probably would've been awesome to play. However, when you try to build an entire universe, along with a separate (I think separate?) single person game, and you have studios all over the globe each trying to shoe horn in a different part of the game, you get the abortion that they now have.

I lap up epic space sims but the only reason I check this thread is anticipation of its inevitable epic capitulation. There's no way that they can piece this together into a functional game - no matter what they eventually push out the door, if anything, they'll never be able to bring themselves to stop selling ships for hundreds of dollars and completely invalidating the point of any actual gameplay progression.

given the sums involved, if this does go tits up, new laws will likely come out of this debacle

I said it before in this thread and I'll say it again. Someone will go to jail over all this.

Side note:

I haven't accessed my account in a year or so, and tried to log in yesterday.

It seems my account and ship are gone, as I cannot access it and my email shows it not attached anymore.

I sent in a request ticket, but I have a funny feeling someone may have hacked in and sold the stuff?

(It was the Kickstarter $45 LTI from way back so not a huge loss)

I am looking forward to the new word that enters our language to describe what happened with Star Citizen, kind of like how Charles Ponzi had the "honor" of his money making plan being forever called a Ponzi Scheme.

So he always has been completely clueless. I'm not exactly surprised, but that is such a monumentally ignorant thing to say I continue to be perplexed why anyone would pour money into this scam.

Aye, anyone still giving them money is pretty much a basket case. It's the early backers I feel for.

This game's kickstarter was a perfect sell. A tried and proven developer doing a game type that has been ignored by the majors for too long. Everyone who wants to see this type of game again wanted to put money into that kickstarter. I did, but just never got around to it. Being lazy sometimes is a plus.

Hopefully this all works out. Because if this fails it will tarnish all future kickstarters for a very long time. I like kickstarter, it's a great way to get money to innovators who are bypassed by the majors.

They finally confirmed that Russians took all my crap and they reinstated my account from 2013.

Meh, I'll wait 2 more years and re-check on it.

I hope someone made some rubles selling my KS ship....
