Semi-serious question, but which news network would run a story on this? Some bullshit gaming journalism outlet? Nah, they busy kissing ass of anything ever made. Maybe any of the mainstream news outlets? Nah, they busy grinding out exp on political hit pieces 24/7. Basically, nobody cares about this, and why should they? What's the story? Idiot gamers spend a ton of money propping up a con man who promises the first quadruple-A online gaming world(s)? If that were news, McQuaid would still be in trouble over Vanguard, not making a game that may end up releasing before Star Citizen, and with 1/200 millionth the budget.

Wonder how many people put money into the game years ago and either forgot or just gave up?

I think I am in for $40 in the very early days, filtered all their emails to spam a long while ago. I forgot we even had an active thread for it.

There are no people that aren't part of the game industry, or hardcore gamers, that take the industry even remotely serious.

That is why they have so many complete idiots making dubious calls, terrible practices, an insane amount of missed opportunities. Other industries are strictly regulated and / or closely watched, but in the land of gaming anything goes.

Bobby Kotick, the big man at Activision-Netease, was a director at yahoo from 2003 to 2008. You know, there very same yahoo that struggled its way through 2008 and had to lay off a ton of people. He bought 25% of Activision assets in the early 90s, and shortly after made it to CEO, after achieving jack fuck in other industries.

Literally a college drop-out with zero career achievements as the major shotcaller of one of the biggest gaming companies globally.
