This was my Spider Man (with Morgan Freeman):

I also grew up with that as my first intro to heroes. Since Spidey didn't have an origin movie until 2002, you must have turned into a confused faggot when you finally watched the real thing. 'You mean Bookworm wasn't one of his arch enemies?! WTF!!' I'm glad kids and adults have no proper way to adjust to such things because origin movies are very important and necessary overall.

Lol the best you faggots can do is invent straw man arguments? You are factually wrong about everything and you know it so now its but but comic books!

:emoji_fork_knife_plate::emoji_poop::emoji_coffin::emoji_gay_pride_flag:

Nobody said we hadn't heard of superman, retards, said we didn't get a big screen superman, they abandoned him after reeves movies in favor of batman. You all are in here trying to argue wb didn't drop the ball when you know they did. They knew they did too, they were trying to reboot him in the mid 90s ffs with a new origin movie. They just failed, then in the 00s they figured it had already been 3 decades may as well not reboot him and just do a homage to the donner films. They ended up waiting 4 decades before giving him a new origin story in 2013s man of steel.

In actual movie news they did adjust opening weekend numbers up from 122 to 125 domestic, but reduced overseas from 100 to 95mil.

You want to make more on domestic since you get a larger cut of those proceeds so this isn't necessarily a bad thing. Still looks like its going to fall short of man of steel (especially if adjusting for inflation) but if fantastic fourskins bombs completely and this maintains good audience scores its possible it could maybe even break even

one advantage to this movie doing decent but not $700m+ is that it'll likely cause Gunn to focus on smaller budget movies that will be much easier to break even and not be bloated by high priced actors/directors. Clayface and Supergirl are the known movies coming out and both are in the $50-70m budget ranges so will only need to clear $200m to make money which should be easily doable.

Gunn has also said multiple times the biggest reason why audiences have stopped going to comic book movies is that they are filmed before the script is done and the end result shows the drop in quality. If he sticks to only filming movies with a finished script I think thats a huge step forward. Avengers Doomsday is currently filming for example without a finished third act, which sounds like a disaster in the making.

Clayface is written/directed by Mike Flanigan (horror auter) so I have high hopes for that. I'd love more small budget comic book movies that don't deal with world ending threats, basically instead of meh TV shows every year I'd prefer a 1-2 two hour good comic book movies from DC.

You said it, as weird as a Clayface movie being in the first three movies of a new Cinematic Universe is, Mike Flanagan is not one who's going to fall into the usual 'ad-lib everything and remake half the movie in reshoots' trap.

As much as I would like to see mid-budget movies be made, and not badly stretched to make a streaming show, you do have to question if the media corporations haven't trained their audience to just wait for streaming on those. It's not like Blue Beetle was a massive hit, after all.

That Supergirl bit at the end was one of the dumbest scenes in the movie.

Might as well flashed a queue card on screen saying Supergirl exists. Her being shown to exist and come and go in Superman's life yet not explain anything to superman about the nature of his origins is really retarded.

Is there a OnlySupes in that DCU? I could see it working out just fine if so.

id sub lol

but apparently its a revenge film where she goes across the galaxy getting revenge for krypton. Has Lobo and I guess Krem is the villain. Idk she’s hot and it sounds fun and if it doesn’t cost a lot to make it should expand what Gunn is doing nicely

interesting bts/numbers stuff

Typically, a film’s stars earn the top salaries. But in this case, Gunn was by far the highest earner, pulling down 20 times more than David Corenswet (Superman/Clark Kent) and Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), who each earned $750,000 to Gunn’s $15 million, according to sources (Gunn also draws a seven-figure salary as the studio’s top executive).

And Nicholas Hoult, who plays archvillain Lex Luthor, nabbed a $2 million payday. Although Warner Bros. has sequel options on Corenswet and Brosnahan, a sequel announcement does not appear to be imminent. Instead, sources say the studio is fast-tracking a “Wonder Woman” movie. And the studio is thrilled with Matt Reeves’ just-submitted screenplay draft for the sequel to “The Batman.”

But one hot-button issue is resonating with some moviegoers. Pro-Palestinian activists and influencers are hailing the film on social media for what they see as an overt rebuke of Israel in the wake of its deadly military campaign in Gaza. In the film, Lex Luthor has started a foreign war and is making billions off the conflict. The aggressor nation, dubbed Bovaria, drops bombs and oppresses its desert neighbor until Superman saves the day.

Twitch streamer Hasan Piker, who has a massive following, called the film “two hours and like 10 minutes of fuck Israel the entire time” — a sentiment echoed across social media on opening weekend.

lol

kinda funny considering Superman was created by 2 jews as a reflection of their jewish immigrant experience coming to America

So superman's dad is Nazi Zod now? Instead of Zods enemy?

Same thing dickhead baby raper did in Peacemaker making Cena's dad a skinhead nazi? And Superman is the same bumbling doofus hero as Cena is in Peacemaker? It's like the guy only has one idea.

I did Nazi that coming.
