Manning's not going to coach. Dungy is on record saying he doesn't think its something Peyton would be interested in and knows he's far too emotional and invested to handle it. Not to mention that its been widely reported that his retirement interest is in the front office with an ownership stake in the team. More like an Elway style. He won't go down to the sidelines and tell his staff how to coach, I can't see him being that kind of Dan Snyder level arrogant and stupid. Then some poor division will have to deal with Offensive Coordinator / QB Coach Manning, and the pain he can bring will continue. Manning's body might be done, but the mind is going to continue to bedevil defenses from the sideline. You read about players commenting on it every now and then, he is such a bastard to play against because he is like an extra coach out there right on the field.
If he can train others in the Jedi ways, some team is going to be very very lucky, and I can't see him just walking away from football forever.
also, fuck that he's still peyton manning. id pretty much take him over like 25/32 qbsand play like dick for 20m
So front office of Tennessee would be tragic but kicking ass on field in the division with Jacksonville would be epic?If Peyton owned the Titan's it'd be a real kick in the dick to Colt's fans. We're all sitting here dreaming of him coming in as an OC or QB Coach or something, as long as it's with the Colts. Seeing him in a booth cheering for a Colts loss twice a season... that don't feel right.
I hope he gets cut and goes to some really bad team like the Skins or Tampa or Jacksonville and just destroys for one year, gets to the playoffs, and then retires. Like a major "it was me, not you" kind of statement.
Well, as the saying goes, "those who can't do, teach". That's why you'll rarely see the best players at their position in coaching roles. And for the few of those that are, they usually don't have very good track records.Manning's not going to coach. Dave Dameshek had an interesting theory on his podcast about Peyton. He says that the old man Peyton in Denver is just sort of ill suited for the playoffs because even though he has gotten so smart, his body can't execute at the level it once could, so during the regular season he is able to beat teams with trickery even though he can't play to the level of the best QBs anymore but by the playoffs his lack of mobility and inability to throw as accurately doesn't hold up vs. top defenses at the top of their game, not to mention the coaches have had the whole season to study him and learned a few of his tricks. Then some poor division will have to deal with Offensive Coordinator / QB Coach Manning, and the pain he can bring will continue. Ok so explain the rest of his career suckage during the post season?Dave Dameshek had an interesting theory on his podcast about Peyton.
